Daughter of mine, I’ve come to the realization that in a short time, you’ll be standing next to the man you love as you head down the aisle. This day is going to be a celebration of your love and relationship, but there’s so much more to it than that. At this point, you have my letter in hand. You know me and know how I feel about writing things down and leaving them for posterity. You likely won’t read this until many years from now, but as soon as you do, please know I’m writing with a full heart.
On Sunday, June 1st 2015, my darling daughter, Shoshanna, married her sweetheart (and saving grace), John. Neither of them knew at the time that by the end of that day, he would be permanently disabled under the care and supervision of long-term services provided by our local Jewish community. A Prayer For My Daughter On Her Wedding Day
As you enter into this new phase of life, remember that marriage is not easy. It will be filled with joy and laughter… but it will also be fraught with challenges and trials. Your husband may disappoint you or hurt your feelings; he may fail to meet your expectations of him in some way. But this does not mean he should be cast aside like an old toy that has been broken or outgrown; no! Instead, it means that we must learn how to forgive each other when we fall short—and then keep trying again until we succeed! This is what marriage is: two imperfect people striving together toward perfection through their love for each other.
I pray that today’s ceremony will serve as an example for others who watch from afar: if two imperfect people can find such happiness together despite their differences, then maybe someday all of us can do the same thing too!
Dear Daughter, Today is your wedding day. You’ll be walking down the aisle before God and your father and all assembled to witness that momentous occasion that marks the beginning of your union with your beloved, Joe. I suppose it should come as no surprise that my range of emotions on this, your most important day, runs deeper and wider than a lonely, quiet stream in a moonlit forest during a rainstorm.
Dear God,
I pray that you will bless my daughter on her wedding day.
She is getting married to a wonderful man who loves her and has been good to her for many years. I ask that you bless them with a long and happy marriage, as well as the ability to raise their children in a loving home filled with your grace. I ask that you help them to discern when they are bringing each other joy or pain, and give them the wisdom to know how to make their marriage stronger by making changes when needed. Please guide them through all of life’s challenges so that they can be a source of strength in each other’s lives, never forgetting how much they mean to one another no matter what happens along the way. Amen
As a mother, I know that the day my daughter gets married will be an incredible day. It’s not just a celebration of love and commitment—it’s also a celebration of the woman she has become.
I’ve watched my daughter grow up, and she’s always been a beautiful person inside and out. But on this day, she gets to show everyone what a beautiful woman she has become: someone who is confident in herself and her choices, someone who can respect herself while respecting others, and someone who is willing to take risks in order to make her dreams come true.
I want my daughter to feel comfortable enough with herself that she doesn’t need anyone else’s approval for what she does with her life. And yet… I still want her to know that I love her unconditionally and support whatever decisions she makes for herself.
I hope that on this day, God will bless my daughter with the strength and wisdom to follow His guidance wherever it leads; that He will give us both courage when we’re scared; and that He will lead us into paths of righteousness so that we can live happy lives together as we continue growing closer every day!

A Prayer For My Daughter On Her Wedding Day
Dear God,
Dear God,
You have been a blessing to me since the moment I was born and every day since. You have given me everything—a loving family, a home, food and clothing—and for this I am thankful. It’s up to us to pass on those blessings to others. That’s why it’s important for my daughter to have a husband who will be good to her and treat her well. We can give our blessings by praying for their happiness together in marriage.
Prayer for my daughter and her husband
That they may be blessed with a happy marriage.
Lord, I ask that you would bless the union of this couple. May they be filled with your love and joy. Help them to have a relationship that is built on your word and on the foundation of Christ’s love.
May they be blessed with long life and many children. May they grow in wisdom and knowledge so that they may teach their children the ways of the Lord. Let their love grow deeper each day, for only then will it withstand the storms of life.
Lord God, thank you for blessing this couple with my daughter as a wife. Give them patience as they learn from each other how best to live together as one flesh. Let them be faithful to one another in all things through Christ our Lord who loves us all very much! Amen
Dear Lord, I pray that you will bless the bride and groom on their wedding day. May they have an abundance of love and happiness. May they always be faithful to each other and may their love grow stronger each day. May they be blessed with many years together as a family.
Dear Lord, I pray that you will bless the parents of the bride and groom on their child’s wedding day. May they find comfort in knowing that their child is in good hands with their spouse. May they always support their children no matter what happens in life. May they live long enough to see all of their grandchildren grow up and become successful adults. Amen

I come before you with a grateful heart.
The gift of the beautiful bride is yours to give, and your joy is in knowing that she will be cared for by her husband. I am thankful for the many years of guidance and support that have prepared her for this moment. Thank you for raising such an amazing little girl who has become a strong woman, ready to take on whatever comes next. Thank you for the times we’ve had together, the memories we’ve made, and the love we share as mother and daughter.
I know that I speak for all who are here today when I say thank you for all the blessings in our lives: Your strength holds us steady when we grow weary; Your faith strengthens us during difficult times; Your courage empowers us to take risks; And Your wisdom teaches us how to live well so that others may benefit from our example (1 Corinthians 4:13).
I have been blessed beyond measure, and today that blessing is my beloved daughter.
My daughter is my blessing.
She has been blessed beyond measure, and today that blessing is my beloved daughter.
Unlike the manna from heaven that sustained the Israelites in their wandering journey through the desert, her love nourishes me more than any bread could ever do.
Her voice is sweeter than any music I have ever heard; it comforts me when I am alone or in need of strength for tomorrow’s challenges.
special words to my daughter on her wedding day
Today I pray for her new life, her new marriage and her new future as a wife.
I pray today for your new life, for your new marriage and for your new future as a wife. I pray that God will bless you both with happiness in all that lies ahead.
I also pray that you will learn to put the Lord first in all things, especially your marriage. May it be a reflection of His love on earth and may He grow it into something truly beautiful because of His work within you both.
I pray that each of you will strive to become one flesh with each other and serve one another’s needs as Christ did His Church (Ephesians 5:25-33). I ask this not just for yourselves but also for those around you who might look up to both of you as examples of how real love can look in action; how love looks when done right by two people committed to each other through thick or thin—and even through dark times!
Lord, I pray for the young man she loves more than anything in this world.

Bind their love together with your blessings today Lord!
Today, I ask that you bless their love with blessings unseen. And while they bind their love together in marriage, please forgive them of any sins they have committed, whether it be to each other or against you. Give them strength as they face the challenges that come with marriage and let your grace help them grow stronger every day. Please give them a happy and prosperous home that will be filled with laughter and love for all the years ahead!
I pray that you bless their union with your graces so they become a match made in Heaven.
As you offer your grace to the union of these two, I pray that you bless their union with your graces so they become a match made in Heaven.
Grace is an important concept in Christianity. Grace is the unmerited favor of God, and it’s something that we cannot earn or deserve on our own merits. It’s something that has been given to us by God, and we can only receive it when we accept His offer through faith in Jesus Christ.
Grace is not merely for moral people; it’s for everyone! You see, grace isn’t just about being forgiven for your sins or receiving salvation; it’s also about living out your life as a Christian day by day—sharing Christ with others by loving them unconditionally just as He does; seeking justice rather than vengeance; forgiving freely because God forgave me freely first (Eph 4:32); sharing hope with those who are hurting instead of judging them…the list goes on!
And believe me when I say this: grace is sufficient enough for all situations because God knows exactly how much we need each day (2 Cor 12:9).
Thank you for this day, I await it anxiously! Thank you, Lord! In Jesus name we pray, Amen!
All right, we are in the home stretch with your wedding prayer now. Let’s go!
My daughter, you have waited patiently for this day and I know the time has come when you will be joined to your husband as one flesh and bone. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
Thank You Lord for this special day when our daughter will become a wife and mother in Christ’s Kingdom. We thank You for gifting her with a man who shares her faith; who loves her as a person; and who wants to build his life around her. We praise You for bringing two families together in love through marriage because it is only by Your grace that we can serve You better than ever before!
We pray that their union will be blessed with joys that surpass all understanding so that they always show gratitude toward each other no matter what happens along life’s journey together…and most importantly that both of them live out their Christian faith every single day of their lives together just like they do now on this very special occasion where they begin this new chapter called “Wedding Day”…Blessings upon blessings Lord, Amen
wedding prayers for the bride and groom
Gracious God, spirit of life and love, we ask all blessings upon Groom and Bride in their life together. May they be blessed with patience, to see them through times of tensions or conflict. May they be blessed with kindness, to enable them to nurture and care for one another in times of pain or sorrow. May they be blessed with a spirit of play and joyfulness, that they may participate fully in the beauties and pleasures of creation. May they be blessed, finally, with a knowledge of the ever-flowing presence of love in the world, that they may be channels of this love to one another and to all whom they meet in their life’s journey. Amen.
Heavenly Father, we know Your presence is with all of us here this special day of BRIDE and GROOM’s wedding and we give thanks. We ask Your blessing and love be with us during this ceremony and to especially fill the hearts of BRIDE and GROOM as they pledge their love to one another. May the wisdom and spirit of all-giving and all-understanding Love pervade all the words spoken and all the love given here today, that these vows offered will remain strong and true and abiding in the presence of love all the days of their lives.
May all of us present feel the strength and depth of BRIDE and GROOM’s love and experience a rebirth of the power of love in our own lives. We ask these things in thy Name and give thanks that it is so.
