There are many churches in Boulder, but we feel like Flatirons is the church that best meets the needs of people who want an authentic relationship with God while also being a part of something bigger than themselves (i.e., serving others).

The Flatirons Church service has a unique feel that makes you feel like you’re in an intimate setting with God. The building has an open concept with a stage to the right, so there are no walls blocking your view of the platform or any of the activities going on there. The church hosts many community events such as food pantries, medical clinics and car washes as well as having fellowship groups after each service for people who want to stay and talk with others about what they experienced during worship or how they can be involved in some way.

Flatirons Superior

Address: 13000 Huron St, Superior, CO 80027

Service Times: 9:00AM and 10:30AM (Sunday)

Kids Ministry? Yes! Every Sunday morning at both services there is a Kids Connection class for kids ages 3-7 years old. Kids in grades 1-6 attend the worship service with their families. All students are dismissed for the first 12 minutes of each service so that they may receive instruction from their teachers on how to participate in the service ahead of time. This allows them to focus on what’s happening around them rather than watching the clock or waiting for Mom or Dad to come back and get them.

Live Stream? Yes! We stream each weekend’s worship services live via our YouTube channel (https://www.youtube….). The next Sunday’s stream will be available here by 8 am Eastern Time on Friday morning

Church is a place to find community and hope.

In addition to providing an opportunity for worship, Flatirons Church has a variety of ministries that focus on the spiritual needs of individuals and families. These include:

  • Bible studies—groups where you can learn more about the Bible in an informal setting with others who have similar interests or struggles
  • Small groups—smaller groups within our church community that meet in homes or other spaces throughout Boulder County to connect with one another in a deeper way
  • Children’s ministry—a safe place where your kids can learn what it means to follow Jesus Christ, grow their faith, develop friendships with other children their age, discover how God made them special and unique just like everyone else.

Flatirons Church layoffs

Flatirons Church is laying off employees and cutting staff hours, according to a letter sent by the church’s leadership team.

The Boulder-based church has grown quickly in recent years, adding multiple campuses in Colorado and one overseas in Shanghai. But it’s also been facing increasing financial pressures, with some critics questioning the long-term sustainability of its business model. Now the situation appears to be worsening, with Flatirons announcing layoffs for both full-time and part-time staff — including several high-level executives — as well as cuts to employee benefits packages.

“With our rapid expansion into new locations outside of Boulder County,” reads an email from Flatirons leaders that was sent out earlier this week, “we are saddened but also excited to announce that we are making some significant changes to our staffing structure.”

Flatirons Church layoffs

April 9, 2019 UPDATE: Flatirons Church announced on April 9 that the church will be laying off staff, including the church’s lead pastor, Steve Brown.

The layoffs come after a year of internal strife at the Denver-area megachurch. The church released a statement announcing the layoffs on its website.

“Because of a decrease in donations and increase in expenses, Flatirons Church will have to lay off some staff members,” the statement reads. “This painful and difficult decision was made after thoughtful consideration by our Board of Directors and senior leadership team.”

Flatirons Church is also planning to reduce its operating budget and realign staffing to better reflect their current needs.

The statement went on to say that the church is committed to keeping its doors open despite these changes and will continue providing quality ministry programs for those who attend services on Sundays or Wednesday nights.

OUR VALUES
ACTS 2:42-47

  1. BIBLICAL AUTHORITY – “A BETTER WAY TO DO LIFE”
The Bible is God’s Word and it is our authority for life. If we will adjust our lives (submit) to it, we will find a better way to live. (John 1:14)
  2. RELATIONAL INTIMACY – “GRACE AND TRUTH”
No matter what you have done wrong, we believe that by grace through faith in Jesus alone, it is still possible to be reconnected back into an intimate relationship with God. (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 6:1-23 & 8:1-39)
  3. SPIRITUAL FORMATION – “ME TOO”
We believe that living life and linking arms in a safe “me too” group is the best environment to train to know who Jesus really is so that He is formed in us. (Romans 12:1)
  4. EXCELLENT ENVIRONMENTS – “BUMP INTO JESUS”
Using our spiritual gifts, talents, abilities, resources, passions and creativity, we believe that it is our role and responsibility to create excellent environments and eliminate any and all obstacles so that people have the best opportunity to encounter (bump into) Jesus so that He can do what only He can do. (Colossians 3:17)
  5. RELATIONAL EVANGELISM – “COME AND SEE”
Because of what Jesus has done for us we believe the most loving thing we can do for others is to go to them and invite them to come and see who Jesus is and what He has done for them. (Mark 2:1-28, Matthew 28:1-20).
