Bible Verses About Protecting Children

The Bible talks about protecting children in several places. As a parent, you may worry about the safety of your kids and wonder how to guide them in their lives. These verses will help you build your faith as a parent and show you how to keep your children safe.

Isaiah 54:4-5

The Bible makes it clear that God’s protection is a fortress, shield, refuge, stronghold and place of safety.

In Isaiah 54:4-5 we read: “Fear not; for you will not be ashamed; neither be confounded nor blush before them; for you shall forget the shame of your youth, and shall not remember the reproach of your widowhood any more.”

This is encouraging because children are sometimes embarrassed by their parents. When you are in danger or trouble (and everyone is at some point), don’t worry about what people think about you—just trust in God!

Psalm 5:11

Psalm 5:11 says, “God is a righteous judge, and a God who has indignation every day. If you would enter into life, keep the commandments.”

These words are strong and bold! The word “judge” means to discern or consider. God does not take lightly the sins of men or women. He sees all things before they happen (1 John 3:20). This means that He knows exactly how we sin and when we sin because He knows what is going on in our hearts at all times (Psalm 94:19).

This verse tells us that if we want to experience eternal life in heaven with Him, then we must abide by His laws—and those laws include protecting children from harm.

John 10:28

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” – Matthew 19:14-15

Jesus loves children. He wants to protect them from harm and give them a place in heaven someday! If you love Jesus like your parents love you, then help him protect children by sharing this message with others!

Psalm 34:7

“The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.

O taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

“For he will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day…for he makes his angels winds, and his ministers a flame of fire.”

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them.” These verses show us God protects us.

The Bible is full of verses about protecting children. God wants us to protect our children, and He protects them as well. Let’s look at some of the passages where Jesus says that we should protect children and keep them safe from harm.

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them…” – Mark 10:14

Jesus said that we should help kids in any way possible, and not stop them from coming to Him for protection if they need it. The kingdom of heaven has many doors—and one of those doors is open for all who seek it out! We can’t stop anyone from opening that door; but if they ask us why they shouldn’t open it, then we can tell them what’s inside!

Dear Lord, please protect my child from all evil. Please watch over him or her, and keep them safe from harm. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Scriptures to speak over your child

“You who dwell in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the LORD, ‘My refuge and fortress, my God in whom I trust.’ For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence; he will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.” Psalm 91:1-4

Psalm 91:1-16

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not approach you. You need only look with your eyes to see the recompense of evil-doers. If you make your bed on a rock…then no harm shall come upon you, nor shall any plague come near your tent. For he will give his angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways…They shall bear thee up in their hands lest thou dash thy foot against a stone….Yahweh will keep
