We do not know where or when it was written, we do not know who wrote it. In the XIX century it was found in the library of Vallicella and was attributed to St. Anthony of Padua. “Yes, I say to you: Unless you renounce yourself, unless you renounce your cruel fantasies and greed that burn your heart, unless you go back to being men like other men, unless you recover the gift of joy, so that your eyes can shine with gladness – yes! Unless this happens, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven”. (St Antony of Padua).
It’s in these moments that we need the Holy Family more than ever: we need Mary, Joseph, and Jesus to remind us that we’re not alone, and that they’re with us in every step of life. Today we’re asking for their prayers as we begin a new [blog] series on prayer. We hope they will guide us on our journey as we learn how to pray together as a family, and how to connect with God through prayer. Daily prayer to the holy family
Dear Holy Family,
We come to you today to ask for your intercession and protection. We know that you are always with us and we thank God for your presence in our lives. As we grow closer to you, we also grow closer to each other. We pray that this closeness will continue as we become better Christians and better people. We pray that your love will continue to guide us through the hard times of life as well as the good ones.
In Jesus’ name, Amen
Dear Holy Family,
Thank you for watching over me today.
I pray that the light of your love will always heal and guide me to be a good person, to never lose sight of what is important in life and to always follow my heart.
I ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen
Dear Holy Family,
Thank you for guiding us through our daily lives. We are so grateful for the example you set, and we look to you as a source of inspiration. Please continue to protect us in this time of uncertainty. Help us carry out our work with integrity, and may we be able to share your values with those around us. We pray that all things may work together for good.
O God, who didst vouchsafe to choose the holy family of Nazareth for the home of thy Son and His Holy Mother, grant that we may all imitate the virtues of Jesus and Mary, and persevere in their love until our last breath. Amen.
Lord, watch over all of us as we go about today’s activities.
Help us to remember the example of the Holy Family and be kind to those around us.
Amen
Oh Holy Family of Nazareth,
May you be our guide as we walk the path of love and service.
Help us to be strong in our faith,
And to live out our faith in all that we do.
O Holy Family of Nazareth, teach us to be humble and loving.
Catholic prayer to the Holy Family
Dear Holy Family,
In the Name of God the Father, and of God the Son, and of God the Holy Ghost. Amen.
Most Holy Mother of God, we greet you with the greatest respect and love. You are our Queen and our Mother. You are the one who conceived Jesus Christ in your womb and gave Him flesh through your virginity; you gave Him blood through your Immaculate Heart; you gave Him soul through your conception as a child of God; you gave Him body through your death on Calvary. Yours is a unique motherhood: it is at once physical and spiritual, material and mystical. You are truly our Mother; we are truly your children. Your maternal love for us can never be exhausted or measured by any earthly standard because it is infinite. Mary, Mother of all mankind, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death! Amen!
Holy Joseph, foster father of Jesus Christ, whose life was marked by trials that prepared him to be a good father to His divine Son while He lived on earth as man’s redeemer from sin; dear husband of Mary – may we learn from your example how much patience we must have as fathers
Consecration prayer to the Holy Family
Prayer to the Holy Family
O Holy Family of Nazareth, you are the model of all Christian families. Help me to be faithful to my vocation and to live it to the full; help me to live in peace with my family, to pray together and to love one another. Obtain for us from God a great sense of faith, hope and charity that we may live our lives in harmony with the Gospel. Amen.
Consecration Prayer
O most Holy Family of Nazareth, we adore and praise You for Your virtues and graces which You have given us as models of holiness. We thank You for Your gifts, especially Jesus Christ our Saviour, who is our brother and our Redeemer; Mary His Mother, who is our Mother; Joseph His Father’s fatherly protector and guide; John His foster brother who was an apostle of love; all the saints who are united with You in Heaven by their love for God and neighbor!
We consecrate ourselves today to You in order that we may become more like Jesus Christ through Your grace-filled example so that we may show forth the Father’s glory through works of mercy done in Your name!
Our dear heavenly Mother Mary I place myself under your protection as I begin this day’s
Let us pray to the Holy Family, that they may be our models, our protectors and our consolation.
O most holy Family of Nazareth, in which dwelt the Son of God, Who was made man for us, I adore you as my model and my hope.
I beseech you, then, O divine Child Jesus: Grant me that I may imitate your virtues and practice them daily in order to love and honor my heavenly Father more ardently; that by imitating your poverty I may learn to be content with what God gives me; that by imitating your obedience I may learn to obey all those whom God has placed over me in this world; that by imitating your piety towards God’s Blessed Mother I may learn to love Her more dearly; that by imitating your goodness towards little children I may learn to be more charitable towards those who are weak or suffering; that by imitating your patience when persecuted I may learn not to complain when anyone offends me; above all, O divine Child Jesus, grant me grace so far as it depends on you not to offend God any more but always to love Him more than myself or even anything else in this world!
O most holy Mary ever Virgin
Help us to see the beauty in all things, and make us aware of how much we have to be grateful for.
Give us a spirit of service and selflessness.
Grant us the grace to be ready for whatever mission you want to give us.
Show us your presence in our daily lives.
We ask these things through Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen
O Holy Family, I offer you my prayers in your honor. May your example of faith, hope and love inspire me to be ever more holy. May the Blessed Mother intercede for me that I may become more perfect in virtue and the practice of all the Christian virtues. May the Holy Spirit guide me always to do your holy will. Amen
Dear Holy Family,
We ask for your blessing today. We know that you are always with us and that you are the source of all our strength. We ask that you give us the courage and strength to face whatever comes our way today, and we pray that you bless each person who is a part of our lives. We ask for your intercession on behalf of those who are suffering or in need today, including [person’s name] and [person’s name].
We thank you for all the blessings you have given us and we pray for guidance as we go forward into this new day.
Amen
Dear Lord and Savior, thank you for the gift of your mother, Mary.
We ask that you bless her, as well as her husband Joseph, and their son Jesus.
May she always be a source of light in our lives as we learn to walk in your ways.
We pray also for all mothers everywhere who have lost their children or who have been separated from them. May they know the joy of being reunited with those they love one day soon.
