Prayer For A Friends Sick Mother

I’m writing to thank you for your touching prayer request. I have shared your note with my mother and she would like to respond personally. First off, she would like to extend her sincerest gratitude for this kind gesture –in particular, following the recent loss of her beloved husband. Also, let me extend both of our sincerest appreciation for all the kind words that were shared and for the numerous prayers for her speedy recovery. We are truly grateful to God for his many blessings (at least in the midst of this difficult situation).

We’ve all been there, we just want to help in any way possible but not sure how. So we pray. Not only do we pray for her, we ask others to join us. Please say a prayer for my friend’s mother, who is suffering from breast cancer and has been undergoing treatment that is making her particularly weak at the moment.

I am asking for prayers for our sister in Christ Chantel. Chantel is a vet and has been battling cancer since February of this year. It is metastasized to her brain and from the research I have done it doesn’t seem like she has much time left with us on earth. We are asking for prayer for her & her family at this time.

For a friend who has lost his mother to cancer, I pray that you would show compassion and mercy on the family in their time of loss. I pray that you will ease the sadness they feel with Your Holy Spirit’s comfort and strength. Please lift up our prayer warrior through Your power as he struggles to deal with this sudden loss. Help him see this as a joyful reunion with loved ones, rather than an unbearable missing. Comfort him in his grief and love him through every day until he sees You face-to-face again.

Please surround her with your love, comfort her with your presence, and give her the strength she needs to fight this disease. We pray that she will be healed, and that she can continue to live out the rest of her days in peace and happiness. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen

Dear God,

We pray for the health of [friend’s mother’s name]’s mother. We know that you are a loving and merciful God, and we ask that you heal her body and soul.

We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, who healed many through his ministry on earth. Amen

Prayer for a friend’s sick mother

Introduction

This is a prayer written for those who have loved ones afflicted by cancer. It can be used by family, friends or hospital chaplains.

God,

God, you are the creator of all things and bring life to us. You are also the one who can restore us when we’re sick or hurting. Give your grace to that friend’s mother as she goes through this hard time in her life. Let her know that you are with her always and will never leave her alone in her time of need. Let peace fill the home where she is staying so that others around them may feel it too—and let comfort reach into their hearts as they see how much you care for them too! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

you have been gracious and merciful to this world and all its people in every way.

You have been gracious and merciful to this world and all its people in every way.

Your love is unconditional, your grace boundless, your mercy limitless, your favor without end.

By your hand you have created each of us and given us the gift of life,

We ask that you give your grace, peace and comfort to all who suffer in body, mind and spirit.

We know that You created us with a purpose. We hope that our friend’s mother is one of the many who will be healed by your hand.

You are the God of restoration and healing, who knows each person’s story better than anyone else could ever imagine knowing it; we pray for Your hand to heal this woman completely.

and we know that you have the power to heal her.

  • We know that you have the power to heal her.
  • You are the giver of life.
  • You are the healer.
  • You are the creator.
  • God can do anything, and we trust in your healing power for our friend’s mother on this day! She is an important part of this family and we want her to be well again so she can watch her grandchildren grow up, attend family functions, and enjoy life with us all!

We confess that sometimes we lose sight of who you are and what you can do,

  • We confess that sometimes we lose sight of who you are and what you can do, because we’ve seen so much illness and suffering.
  • We confess that sometimes we get frustrated with your creation when it doesn’t work the way we want it to.
  • We confess that sometimes we believe in our own abilities more than yours, and as a result end up making foolish decisions resulting in suffering for ourselves or others.

but we ask you now to come near to our friend and his mother.

In the name of Jesus, we come before you now. We know that you are always near and that you love us. But we ask you now to come near to our friend and his mother.

You are always with us, but in times like these we need your presence more than ever. Please touch them with your healing hand so that they may know that You love them and want what is best for them.

We thank You for all Your goodness toward us. We give thanks always for Your mercy and grace toward us, even when it seems as though they have run out or aren’t enough in this situation before me right now.

Give grace to those who care for her,

  • Pray for the caregivers. They, too, are going through a difficult time. Their worry is not only for their mother but also for their family members and friends. They need strength and patience in order to care for her well; they need wisdom in order to decide what course of action will best help her heal; they need to know that you are with them when you pray for them; they need your love and support as they take on this role as caregivers.*

and give your peace to her as she battles this illness.

Sometimes, it’s hard to know what to pray for. That is why I’ve compiled a list of ideas to get you started. If your friend’s mother is sick and struggling, here are some things you could pray for:

  • Give peace to the family
  • Give peace to the sick person
  • Give peace to her caretakers and friends who are there supporting her in this difficult time
  • Let the community around that person be lifted up by her faithfulness and strength

You are a God of restoration and healing,

You are a God of restoration and healing. You can restore the broken hearted, break the yoke of bondage from our lives, and heal us from disease.

You have already given us your assurance that you will do this for those who put their trust in you. If we look to you for these things, then it is certain that they will come to pass just as surely as night follows day!

so we ask you now to touch her life.

  • We ask that you touch her life, Lord.
  • We ask that you heal the sick, Lord.
  • We ask that you touch the sick, Lord.
  • We ask that you restore the sick and give them peace in this time of trouble, Lord.

Strengthen our trust in your power over sickness and death,

God, you are sovereign over all things. You have the power to heal sickness and death. We pray that you would strengthen our trust in your power over sickness and death, so that we may know peace and comfort in this time of sorrow.

May all who have been touched by this illness find healing through their faith in Jesus Christ. May they be restored, bring new life into their bodies, receive comfort from those around them, and look forward to seeing their loved ones again one day with joyous anticipation.

and draw us closer to yourself through this difficult time. Amen.

Dear God,

I don’t know what to say. Your Word tells me that you “give strength to the weary and increase the power of the weak.” If that’s true—and I believe it is—then I pray that you will do this for my friend’s mother now.

I pray that you will grant her peace and comfort in knowing your loving presence in this difficult time. May she know your strength, as well as your love, through her son and daughter-in-law and their children who are gathered around her at this time.

And because we live in such difficult times right now, please help us find hope amidst all of our struggles; bring light into our darkness; lighten our heavy hearts with love; fill us up with joy so that we might be able to laugh despite everything going on around us; give us hope for a better future after things settle down again; heal those who are suffering from illness or injury (whether physical or mental); protect those who cannot protect themselves from harm or danger (like young children); let everyone get through these dark days together safely!
