Prayer For A Woman In Labor

It gives me great pleasure to introduce you to our new blog Prayer for a Woman in Labor. It is a wonderful new WordPress site that is dedicated to providing online medical and veterinary advice on pregnancy and post-partum complications. This is a very rich page, with great information for both expectant and existing mothers. The new blog places an emphasis on delivering research based evidence which can help answer questions from pregnant women, who are unsure about what should be a cause for concern, or who are looking for reassurance when the complications of labor are at a high level.

A prayer for a woman in labor is a traditional prayer that seeks the blessing of God and his protection upon a woman in labor. Guiding her through the terror, pain and uncertainty of labour; protecting her from physical harm and spiritual distress as she contends against the unknown.

Prayer For A Woman In Labor is a prayer for a woman who is in labor and needs strength. This prayer covers all the different stages of labor from start to finish, so it’s helpful to remember during any stage of labor!

Prayer For A Woman In Labor

Prayer For A Woman in labor

God, we pray for [woman’s name] in labor.

She is in need of your comfort and strength.

We ask you to stay with her, guide her through this process, and bring her safely through it to the other side.

Please give her the peace of mind she needs to make it through this trying time.

Dear God,

We come before you now with a woman in labor. She is in pain and has been for many hours. She has been trying to get through it, but she needs our help. We ask that you give her strength, patience and courage. We ask that you help her body to do what it needs to do to bring this baby into the world safely. Please protect the baby on its journey into this world, and help both mother and child have a healthy recovery once this is all over. We thank you for your blessings and love today, Amen!

Dear God, please help [name] to be brave and strong during her labor. Please also help her to trust in You and know that You are with her. Help her to remember that the pain of childbirth is quite normal and very temporary, and that it is not meant for her to suffer in any way. Please bring peace to her mind, body and spirit during this time.

Please give doctors wisdom and knowledge as they care for [name]. Please give them the ability to listen carefully to Your guidance as they work with [name]. Give them strength and energy so that they may do all things well. We ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen

Dear God,

Please watch over this woman as she gives birth to her child. I pray that the pain of labor doesn’t overwhelm her and that she finds strength in You. I pray that the baby is born safely and healthy. Please watch over the doctors, nurses, and staff who are assisting in bringing this child into the world. In Your name we pray, amen

Dear Lord,

I pray for the health of [name], who is about to give birth. Please watch over her during this time and help her to rest in your care. Bless her with a safe delivery and healthy baby. Comfort her during labor, and be with her afterwards as she cares for her new child. Grant [name] strength and courage in the days ahead so that she may raise this child in love and peace.

In Jesus’ name I pray.

Dear God,

We come to you in our time of need. We are asking that you give us the strength and courage to overcome this great challenge. Please help my wife through this difficult time and bless her with a healthy child. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

Oh Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.

Give me a sense of humor large enough that I can overlook minor irritations in others, and small enough that I do not take myself too seriously.

Help me become more aware of the needs of others and less concerned with my own.

Help me to see that even when no one else cares about a problem, it’s still important to me.

Help me be mindful of my words and actions so that I may show respect for others and myself.

Help me be tolerant of those who do not agree with me or share my beliefs; allow them to have their say without feeling threatened by it; allow them to be right where they are right now in their lives without beating them over the head with my opinions or beliefs.

Help me remember that there are many different ways in which people can view things – because they were taught differently, learned differently, had different experiences growing up, or just think differently than I do. Help me remember that what is true for one person may not necessarily be true for another person – but both perspectives deserve equal respect

Prayers on the Birth of a Baby

Forever Young

May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay forever young

May you grow up to be righteous
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you
May you always be courageous
Stand upright and be strong
May you stay forever young

May your hands always be busy
May your feet always be swift
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
May your heart always be joyful
And may your song always be sung
May you stay forever young

– Adapted from the song lyrics of “Forever Young” by Bob Dylan

Today My Baby Is Born

You have chosen this day as the day my baby will be born. Thank you for bringing me to this point in time and for your perfect plan for the hours ahead.

Lord, I praise you for loving me and my baby. Each moment ahead of us is being cradled in Your good hands. May I not forget that.

Help me to not be anxious. Remove from me a heart of fear and replace it with Your peace that passes all understanding! Hold my hand and lead me.

Please allow me to have endurance that comes from you, and keep me safe. Watch over my baby and allow him/her to be born under the best of circumstances.

May Your will be done, Lord. Give me a sense of calm and purpose as I go through labor and delivery.

I know that physical pain can overwhelm me. Help me to cling to You and look forward to the joy ahead when I see my little baby for the first time.

Give skill and wisdom to the doctors, nurses, and staff that will be taking care of me today. Allow them to be kind and helpful and enable me and my family members to bless them too.

Thank you for this new life that you have knit together in my womb so perfectly. Whatever happens, I know that we are all fearfully and wonderfully made. May I feel your presence today in new and excellent ways. I know that You never leave me or forsake me.

I give this baby to You. May my son/daughter grow up to follow You all the days of his/her life and guide me with wisdom as his/her mother from this first moment on.

Prayer for Birth of a Child

I am now in the Sweet Presence of God. I am at one with all creation; I sit in the spirit and the nearness of the God of my Being. In this state of peace I know my true being.

An amazing miracle of creation has occurred in my life: my child was born. This experience has been humbling yet empowering. I am awed with the wonder of this new being that is in the world because of me. I am in a state of grace knowing the incredible co-creative power I have with God, right here, right now.

Bless this child. Bless their health, their heart and their soul. They come into this experience we call life so new, so fresh and so pure. May I be everything to them that they need to have a full and complete journey. May I understand that they have their journey and I have mine as a parent. We are to each other teacher and pupil, pupil and teacher. I will learn as much from them as I teach them.

Lead me in the path of knowledge with my child. Light our way together. Keep us protected and divinely guided in all matters and at all times. May we always feel the presence of God in our lives and may we be blessed.

Help us both to enjoy these early childhood years together. Give me patience and wisdom to do the right things and to do things rightly. May we be happy and full of joy as we spend our days. Bless us richly with health, happiness and laughter.

I am deeply grateful for this child and for all that this child represents in my life. My experience of life and my contribution to the world is changed forever and I am grateful. Thank you, God.

For a Newborn

May all the blessing of our Lord touch your life today.
May He send His little angels to protect you on your way.
Such a wee little fit, sent from above.
Someone so precious to cherish and love.
May sunshine and moonbeams dance over your head
As you quietly slumber in your bed.
May good luck be with you wherever you go.
And your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow.

An Irish Blessing for a Baby

May you always walk in sunshine.
May you never want for more.
May Irish angels rest their wings
beside your nursery door.

And for the proud parents:
May God grant you a wee bit of heaven
to cradle in your arms –
a sweet bonny baby
to hold close to your heart.

A newborn babe
brings light to the house
warmth to the hearth
and joy to the soul
for wealth is family
and family is wealth.

All Through The Night

Sleep, my babe, lie still and slumber,
All through the night
Guardian angels God will lend thee,
All through the night
Soft and drowsy hours are creeping,
Hill and vale in slumber sleeping,
Mother dear her watch is keeping,
All through the night
God is here, you’ll not be lonely,
All through the night
‘Tis not I who guards thee only,
All through the night
Night’s dark shades will soon be over,
Still my watchful care shall hover,
God with me His watch is keeping,
All through the night.
