Prayer is a powerful tool for the Church. God has given us the ability to offer his praise and worship to him. The hymns we sing are a way to offer this praise.

We have an amazing God who loves us so much that he sent His only son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins. He also loves us enough that he wants us to sing praises to him. He wants us to pray and worship him!

The Bible says in Hebrews 2:12-13 “Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil”. This means that we are not only able to offer our praises through song but also through prayer because it is an effort on our part!

As we gather together in worship, there are offerings that we should make in response to our Lord. This giving of ourselves to God is an expression of the love and devotion that he expects from us. Yet offering songs are no less important than any other type of worship song because they provide a way for us to give ourselves in complete trust knowing that all will be used as it should be.

Offering songs are sung during important services of worship, especially when it comes to offering the firstlings. This is usually sung when the congregation comes together for the service opening. Many churches around the world sing offering songs during their morning announcements or other services where members will offer something like money, flowers, or even food.

Nigerian Praise and Worship Songs with Tonic Solfa for Music leaders, singers, and Musicians

Introduction:

Praise worship songs and choruses are melodious tunes incorporated into church music in Nigeria, and in other churches around the world. Christians from Nigeria take along with them some of these songs and practically use them in the culture they found themselves, irrespective of the church denominations.

Some of these songs are recorded on tapes and posted online, while the sources of a few are unknown.

Out of a huge number of these beautiful songs, we have written ‘30 Nigerian Praise-worship songs with tonic solfa’ for musicians and worship leaders who would need to play them on their instruments and sing as well. The songs are already in use for worship services in the churches and other outdoor programmes. We try as much as possible to notate the melodies to a near-perfect, for the copyright songs, and the songs by the unknown authors.

There could be one or few notes that are not quite sounding close to the way you may have known the songs; this could be easily changed with the aid of your instrument.

With the melodies written in tonic solfa, without the beat signs, that could be a bit challenging, though helpful if the performer has a fore-knowledge of the songs and listen to the audio recordings.
