Bible Verses About Husband Responsibilities

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh but provides and cares for it, just as Christ does for the church, since we are members of his body.

“Husbands should love their wives as they love their own bodies.” Ephesians 5:28-29#Christianity #Bible Verses

I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness.

Bible Verses About Husband Responsibilities

Bible verses about husband responsibilities

1 Peter 3:7 ESV / Bible verses about husband responsibilities

Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

1 Peter 3:7

Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.

1 Corinthians 7:3-5

But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. But every wife who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is just as though her hair were cut off. If a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her, for long hair is given to her as a covering. But if one does not have long hair, he should cut it short. A man ought not to cover his head; he is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of man. In addition to this, since we are having trouble on account of our clothing, what should we wear?

  1. “I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion. I will betroth you in faithfulness, and you will acknowledge the Lord.” (Hosea 2:19)

A man is to be the head of the woman, just as Christ is the head of the Church. But what does that mean?

It means that a man must love his wife as Christ loved the Church. It means he must give himself up for her, sacrificing his own needs for hers. He must put her first in all things and treat her with kindness and respect at all times. He must love her when she doesn’t treat him well—and he must even love her when she makes mistakes and causes him harm.

A man’s role is to provide for his family, protect them from harm, and lead them in all things. A man should be a leader in his home, not just because it’s what society tells him to do—but because God told him to do it!

1 Corinthians 14:34

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. (KJV)

1 Peter 3:1-7 (KJV)

Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. For after this manner in old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her

Ephesians 5:25

  1. “The husband is the head of the woman as Christ is the head of his body, the church.” – 1 Corinthians 11:3
  2. “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” – Ephesians 5:25
  3. “Wives, submit to your husbands as you do to the Lord.” – Ephesians 5:22
  4. “Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.” – Colossians 3:19
  5. “Husbands should love their wives as they love themselves, and women should respect their husbands.” – Ephesians 5:33

Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter against them.

Colossians 3:19

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church—for we are members of his body. (Ephesians 5:25-30)

The duties of a husband include being faithful (1 Corinthians 7:10-11), providing financially (1 Timothy 5:8), loving his wife unconditionally (Ephesians 5:25-33), being willing to sacrifice for her (Ephesians 5:25-33), protecting her from harm (Proverbs 31:12) and sexual temptation (1 Corinthians 7:2-6).

I will make you a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will you have to leave it. I will write on you the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem that comes down from heaven from my God, and my own new name. (Revelation 3:12)

He must manage his family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect. (Ephesians 6:4)

A man who has sexual relations with an unmarried woman is guilty of adultery. But if this happens before they are married, he should marry her; otherwise, he has broken faith with her. If her father refuses to give her to him, he should pay him some money according to what the girl’s father would have expected had she been given in marriage to another man. (Exodus 22:16-17)

Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4)

The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body but

After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church – for we are members of his body. “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” This is a profound mystery – but I am talking about Christ and the church. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. -Ephesians 5:25-33

1 Timothy 5:8 ESV / 1 Peter 3:7 ESV

I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness.

He who loves his wife loves himself.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. Therefore, just as Christ does not consider us His enemies, but rather loving friends because we are His members
