It’s important to note that Jesus did not tell her that priests needed more prayers than others; rather, He told her that priests needed special graces. We already know how powerful prayer is, but this is a reminder of how important it is for us as followers of Christ to pray specifically for our priests.
I believe that Your precious blood has power to cleanse my soul of sin and to heal my body. And I believe that Your precious blood has power to heal every sickness and infirmity.
O Jesus, You inspired Saint Faustina with profound veneration for Your boundless Mercy. Grant me through her intercession, if it be Your holy will, the grace …for which I fervently pray. My sins render me unworthy of Your Mercy, but be mindful of Saint Faustina’s spirit of sacrifice and self-denial, and reward her virtue by granting the petition which, with childlike confidence, I present to You through her intercession.
Saint Faustina Prayer For Healing
O most merciful God, I thank You for the gift of priestly vocations. May the priesthood be a special sign of Your presence in the world, so that it may bring joy and consolation to all who seek You with their whole heart. Grant priests the grace to be loyal to their vocation, faithful in service and generous in charity. Help them to work faithfully for the renewal of society and the Church so that they may be signs of Christ’s presence until He comes again in glory. Amen
St. Faustina was a Polish nun who, in the 1930s, had visions of Jesus and Mary. In her diary, she recorded many of these visions and the messages she received from God through Jesus and Mary. The Diary of St. Faustina is one of the most popular books in the world, having sold over 40 million copies worldwide.
In her diary, Faustina wrote about how Jesus asked her to pray for priests:
Prayer for Priests
“O Divine Physician, heal the sick! The souls of priests are often ill from neglect or from bad example or from infidelity; but I wish that these souls be healed by devotion to My mercy.” (Diary 644)
“Today I recommend especially priests to you. They should humble themselves and offer Me their sufferings for sinners; thus they will save their own souls and those of others.” (Diary 1783)
Prayer to Saint Faustina by the Holy Father John Paul II
And you, Faustina, a gift of God to our time, a gift from the land of Poland to the whole Church, obtain for us an awareness of the depth of Divine Mercy; help us to have a living experience of it and to bear witness to it among our brothers and sisters. May your message of light and hope spread throughout the world, spurring sinners to conversion, calming rivalries and hatred, and opening individuals and nations to the practice of brotherhood. Today, fixing our gaze with you on the Face of the Risen Christ, let us make our own your prayer of trusting abandonement and say with firm hope:”Jesus, I trust in You!”.
St faustina prayer for priests
St. Faustina was a humble nun who lived in the convent of the Discalced Carmelites in Cracow, Poland. She was born in 1905 and died on October 5, 1938. The Church has recognized her as a saint.
St. Faustina’s diary is called “Divine Mercy in My Soul,” and it is packed with prayers for priests as well as all vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
The following excerpts are from this diary.
St. Faustina, a Polish nun who died in 1938, was a great friend of God’s mercy. She experienced the presence of the Lord so frequently that she was inspired to record her visions and revelations in a diary. This diary has been published as The Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska: Divine Mercy in My Soul.
Faustina’s Diary is one of the most widely read Catholic books in the world today. It contains many revelations about God’s mercy and about how we can receive it through faith and prayer.
In this post, we will look at some of the prayers that St. Faustina wrote for priests. These prayers are very powerful because they come from someone who was so close to God Himself
St faustina prayer for priests
‘O Jesus, Lord of my life! Grant me the grace to see myself as You see me: as a poor sinner who is guilty of so many sins. Help me to see that nothing can be compared to the love with which You have loved us. For Your great love I am convinced that You will forgive all my sins and grant me the grace of perseverance.
‘Jesus, help me to give myself entirely to You, so that I may obtain true peace and happiness in this life and eternal glory in the next.
‘Jesus, help me not to be afraid of anything except sin, which offends You and separates me from You.
‘Jesus, I love You more than all things; help me always to keep my heart pure and spotless before You. Make me a saint like Yourself; I want to imitate Your example as much as possible during my life on earth. May Your grace always accompany me and make up for any lack on my part.
‘Jesus, I thank You for having created me anew in Baptism when You regenerated my soul through water and the Holy Spirit. Fill it with Your grace so that it may become holy according to Your will
St faustina prayer for priests
Lord Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my heart this day. Since I cannot receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as a sign of my love and as a pledge of my fidelity, for it is not possible for me to keep you physically with me all the time.
I thank you for all the favours which you have granted me from time to time, especially in visiting this church and attending Mass here today. Come, Jesus, and dwell within me now more than ever before. In this way I may be able to say with St Augustine: “Thou hast made us for Thyself and our hearts will never rest until they come to rest in Thee.”
“I long for the day when I can offer Thee a sacrifice of praise that will be worthy of Thee. I am poor and weak; but, O Lord, I want to love Thee with all my heart, with all my mind and with all my soul. Help me to do so.”
“O Jesus, my Divine Master, help me to be faithful to You in little things as well as in great ones; in a word, make me holy.”
“O Jesus, my Divine Master, make me desire only what You desire and make me love only what You love. Let there be no stain upon my soul or body which is not a sign of Your Passion.”
“Lord Jesus Christ! Be Thou my God for evermore; let Thy Will be done always in Heaven and on earth.”
St faustina quotes on prayer
“My God, I love You above all else, and I desire to love You always. I love You above all things because You are my God.”
St. Faustina Kowalska (1905-1938) was a Polish nun who lived during the time of the Second World War. She wrote about her experiences in her diary known as Divine Mercy in My Soul which was later published after her death. She was canonized by Pope John Paul II in 1993 and is now known as St. Faustina of the Divine Mercy.
The following are some of her quotes on prayer:
-“Prayer is not an effort or work but rather a flight into the heart of God.”-
-“I will give you an example of one who prayed; it is Saint Peter Damian who said: “Lord, grant me chastity and continence, but not yet.”-
-“A soul that prays does not need to be told how to pray any more than food needs to be told how to digest.”-
-“Prayer is called a conversation with God because it resembles a dialogue between two persons who speak together and understand each other.”- -“Prayer is like a window through which we look at God;
“Prayer is a spiritual activity, not just an outward sign of our piety. It is an intimate communion between God and man, a union of our whole being with God. It is an expression of gratitude and love, a petition for help, a desire to be better.”
“Prayer is the unceasing praise of God. Without it, all other devotions are nothing but words.”
“Prayer is the soul’s sincere desire, the groan of a heart that is hurting, the cry of a heart that is breaking. Prayer should be a cry of the poor, who stand before the throne of God and seek justice.”
“When you are about to pray, turn your mind first to God, and then speak from your heart. If you do not have time to prepare yourself for prayer in this way, at least pause a moment before beginning to pray and think about what you are going to say. Let it be with sincere affection and deep gratitude.”
“The soul that loves God must forgive offenses willingly and quickly; if there is delay or difficulty in forgiving them, it shows that we love ourselves more than Him.”
“When we ask for guidance from God in prayer, we must also expect His answers promptly. The soul that truly loves God has nothing to fear; it will always hear His voice calling it to come close.”
“Every soul is a mirror of God. The more polished this mirror, the more clearly we shall see God in it.”
“Let us seek a kind of prayer which will be like an art of living, and let us not forget that we are artists.”
“A soul that is conscious of its guilt falls into two extremes: either it becomes completely self-centered or else it loses hope and despairs.”
“The Holy Spirit is ready to pour out upon you a flood of interior graces if you but open your hearts to Him.”
“The Holy Spirit will come to you with gentle violence; He will penetrate your heart and make you cry out from the very depth of your being: My God, my God! What have I done to deserve this grace? I cannot understand it! How can I repay such love?”
Prayer is the best weapon against Satan. Prayer is the only source of strength and light in the darkness of temptation.
Instead of being afraid to lose your soul, be afraid not to lose it. (37)
Do not be afraid of suffering for Christ’s sake: it is a grace from God. (38)
Be grateful for every cross that comes into your life; for it deals with you as nothing else can do in the world or out of it. (39)
Prayer is a real communion with God, an exchange between God and man through which we receive what we ask for and give Him what He wants. (40)
Remember how Jesus prayed before each miracle? He did not pray as one who was seeking something from God, but as one who had already received everything from Him. His prayer was thanksgiving! And so should ours be! For our prayer is offered up as a sacrifice to God when we offer it in union with Christ’s sacrifice on Calvary. (41)
