“And Jesus said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins (he saith to the sick of the palsy), I say unto thee, Arise, take up thy bed, and go into thine house. And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insom raised up himself, and glorified God.” Luke 5:21-23

I find that sometimes, when I’m having a bad day, I just need to be reminded of the big picture.

I’m not saying this to make you feel guilty or anything. But sometimes, if you’re like me, you get so caught up in the little things that you forget about the big picture.

I mean, think about it: What’s one lousy day in the grand scheme of things? One lousy day doesn’t matter, does it?

But then again, what if it does? What if you wake up tomorrow morning only to discover that your house has burned down and all your family members have died in their sleep? What if you go out for a jog and get hit by a car? What if you leave your house unlocked one night and come home to find it robbed? What if someone decides they want to shoot up a movie theater while watching “The Dark Knight” (like they did last summer)?

What happens if all those things happen on the same day? You’d probably have reason to be concerned then, wouldn’t you? You’d probably start wondering why God didn’t do anything about those things before they happened or even during them (if He could). You might even wonder why He didn’t stop them altogether
