The Bible is full of examples of how God helped His people through hard times. In fact, many of the stories we read in the Bible are about how God delivered His people from slavery and oppression, and gave them hope for a better future.
The story of Joseph is a great example of how God can use difficult situations to bring about good things in our lives (Genesis 39-50). There were many times in Joseph’s life when he could have given up hope and thrown in the towel, but instead he trusted God and kept going forward with his plan. And not only did Joseph survive all these trials, but he also became one of the most influential men in history!

The book of Job is one of the most famous stories in the Bible. Job was a man with many blessings: he had a large family, great wealth and many friends. Yet he lost everything because of events beyond his control: disease, natural disaster and war took away everything he had worked for.
Job’s friends came to comfort him with platitudes like “God is good” or “God works all things together for good.” But Job was not convinced by this kind of empty rhetoric; instead he asked very specific questions about why God allowed these terrible things to happen to him (Job 7:1-2).
In response to Job’s questions God gave him a series of speeches describing creation: the stars in the sky are his handiwork, as are all animals on land or sea; even humans are made from dust (Job 38-41).

Third, we can have faith in him.

He is an Expert in His Field

He can predict your actions a day, a month, or even a few years from now. Don’t second-guess his strategy, because he’s thought of everything and it’s foolproof.
Trusting God In Difficult Times Sermon
The truth is, we can’t trust God if we don’t know Him.
The more time you spend with God, the more you will be able to trust Him.
When we read His word and pray, we are spending time with Him. When we worship Him in song and praise, we are investing in our relationship with God.
So, what does it look like to trust God? It means believing that He will do what needs to be done for us in this situation. It means knowing that He has the ability to do what needs to be done and that He has our best interests at heart.
It means trusting Him even when you don’t understand why something happened or how it works out in your favor. It means believing that He loves you enough to take care of all the details so that you can rest in His sovereignty over all things.
You know, we all have situations in life where we feel like God has abandoned us. We’re going through a difficult trial and it seems like things are falling apart. But it’s important to remember that God does not abandon His children.
God is always with us, even when we don’t feel His presence. And even when it feels like He has abandoned us, He hasn’t.
In today’s Gospel reading from Mark 6:45-52, Jesus is talking about how we should pray to our Father in heaven who listens to our prayers. The passage says “if you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” So if we have faith, then God will answer our prayers!
Sometimes it is difficult to have faith because we feel like God has abandoned us and left us alone in our time of need. This happened to Jesus too during his ministry on Earth when he was tempted by Satan in the desert after he had been baptized by John the Baptist (Matthew 4:1-11). It was at this time that Satan tempted Jesus three times by offering him worldly riches if he would worship him instead of God (Matthew 4
To have faith in something means to have confidence in its veracity, strength, ability, or reliability. Trusting God, then, entails placing confidence in His dependability, Word, ability, and strength. It is written in the Bible that God does not lie. That He never fails to fulfill His commitments. And that He loves you and has only good in store for you. If you truly put your faith in Him, you will accept His claims about who He is, the world, and yourself.
Trusting God is more than just a feeling; it’s choosing to believe what He says, even when your emotions or current circumstances tell you otherwise. It’s important to pay close attention to how you’re feeling and the situation you’re in. They are both important in God’s eyes. However, you can’t put your entire life in trust in those things alone. Everything can shift in an instant. As opposed to this, God remains constant. Because he never changes, you can rely on him no matter when you encounter him.
Putting your faith in God does not require you to deny your emotions or the truth. It’s not acting like everything’s fine when it isn’t. Living a life of faith in and submission to God, even in the face of adversity, is what we mean when we talk about trusting God.
The Correct Method for Putting Your Faith in God
What does it mean to put your faith in God now that you know what it is?
If you have complete confidence in someone, you can tell them anything. God can be counted on even more than you can count on your closest friend. He doesn’t expect you to bottle up your emotions when life gets rough.
Get your worries off your chest and give them to Him because He really does care. New International Version 1 Peter 5:7
You remember every one of my tears. You have a bottle full of my tears now. In Your book, You have every one of them written down. According to (Psalm 56:8, NLT)
Since God cares about you, one way to show your faith in Him is to share your thoughts, feelings, and circumstances with Him in prayer. Don’t let your feelings control you; instead, bring them to God and ask for His guidance in dealing with them. Your doubts, struggles, and pain do not frustrate or dismay him. You can put your trust in Him because He cares about you.
When times are tough, those who trust turn to God and His Word. You put faith into action by obeying God’s Word and relying on God to see you through any difficulties. When you put your trust in God, you stop searching for safety in the world around you. God is gracious and patient with you as you grow in your trust of Him, and He knows you won’t get it right the first time.
“My heart is broken beyond repair,” He told them. Stay put and keep an eye out.
He advanced a little further and then collapsed to the ground, begging God to take away the hour from him. When asked what was impossible, Jesus replied, “Abba, Father. Get this cup from Me. But not my will, but Yours be done. NIV Version (Mark 14:34-36)
The enormity of the task at hand overwhelmed even Jesus, and He immediately sought comfort from His Father.
He feels pain when you do. As a result, he is able to focus. What a relief it is to know that the Creator of the Universe is also paying attention to you. Your faith in God will be strengthened by the knowledge that he is on your side, even in the face of adversity and the unknown.
Seven everyday examples of trusting God are provided below.
Firstly, look to the Bible for guidance.
God speaks to us through His Word, which we know as the Bible. When you’re feeling uncertain, you need a safe place to go, and God knows you need that. His Word is the place where we can find such comfort. Invariable and reliable, it never falters.
The Bible recounts God’s past responses to adversity. A reminder that God can be trusted in any situation. To further encourage themselves and others, many characters in the Bible quote from other books of the Bible.
Truth from Scripture releases you from the burden of trying to earn salvation (John 8:32). The worst-case scenarios your mind conjures up when you’re anxious are also eliminated. It’s easier to be led into lies about your life and who God is if you don’t turn to the Word to remind you of the truth in times of difficulty.
Whenever you feel unsure of yourself, you need the sure footing that the Scriptures provide. The Bible is the infallible, unalterable Word of God. When hardships arise, you can take comfort in its accuracy.
Accept Your Skepticism
In all candor, Let God refresh your memory with who He is and what He can do, and then be completely transparent with Him. You can be honest with God about how you’re feeling and the specific ways you’re having trouble putting your trust in Him.
In the beginning, it is good to recognize that His character is good and trustworthy. Everything He says is true, so you can agree with Him. Likewise, when faith seems to be elusive, you can share that with Him.
Man brought his demon-possessed son to Jesus, who cast out the spirit, as recorded in Mark 9. If you can heal me, he pleaded with Jesus, please do. The man said this in response to Jesus’ question about whether he believed Jesus could heal.
The boy’s father cried out immediately, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Mark 9:24 (NIV)
This was a hard thing for him to believe, but he did. Then He turned to them for aid.
Knowing the truth is one thing. However, when life takes an unexpected turn, it can be hard to believe. Yes, you’re a human being. When your emotions and convictions are at odds with God’s Truth, you can tell Him about it. If you need help accepting His claims as true, just ask.
You can finally come to terms with the fact that God is infinitely more complex than you can possibly fathom. Admitting faults and developing mutual trust are two positive outcomes of confessing. He understands what you’re saying and complies with it. His goal is to see your faith flourish.
Lastly, let your neighbors know how you feel.
Remember that you have support around you as you go through this. God is right there beside you. The Lord also surrounds you with other believers.
A prominent early Christian leader, Paul was a devout Christian. One of his fellow Christians was encouraged by his words.
For the sake of Christ, I hope that the cooperation you offer us in the faith will help you to gain a better understanding of everything we have to offer. (Philippians 1:6)
Paul reassured his friend of the value of collaboration, saying it brings us closer to God and His will.
Tell another Christian you trust about your problems when you’re having a hard time. This person should be growing closer to God and be well-versed in the Bible. You don’t have to tell everyone about your problems, but you should seek out people who will uplift you and tell you the truth instead of just what you want to hear.
Through their words of encouragement and accountability, fellow Christians can help you remember God for who He really is. They can lift you up in prayer and offer moral support. When you’re having a hard time remembering the truth, they can help remind you. The support of others is a powerful reminder that you are not alone in your struggles.
Fourth, Keep God in Mind and Devote Some Time to Him
The Lord is greater than your problems. Tough times, despite how long they may seem to last, are actually only temporary. In both the good and the bad, God is there. He never betrays his trust.
God desires that you bring your problems to Him. Moreover, He invites you to come to Him so that you can merely be with Him. Your faith in God is not something that should change based on external factors. The way you see your situation is something God can change.
Meet with God on a regular basis. It will be easier to keep going to the Lord when times are tough if you have a regular time set aside to spend with Him when things are going well. In case you have not already done so, now is as good a time as any to begin.
Take time to read His Word. Recognize His greatness through time spent praying to Him. Get together with other believers, and focus your thoughts on something greater than yourself. Be of service to those around you. Having faith that God will intervene in your situation can be cultivated through these straightforward methods.
- Try to Find Reasons to Be Thankful
Sometimes it seems like the problems in your life are eating you alive. It’s very challenging to ignore them and focus on the positive aspects of the situation. Yet, grace from God permeates everything. Within the context of your awakening. On a bright, sunny afternoon. From a friend’s phone call. He’s involved in everything.
However, the good times are often overshadowed by the more difficult situations. God reveals His will for you and how you should respond to those challenges.
For this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus, to rejoice always in the Lord, to pray without ceasing, and to give thanks in all things. Bible verses (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
God commands that you express gratitude. He is constantly at work, both in your life and the world at large. It’s tough to see the Good Father at work in the times when everything seems to be collapsing, but His mercy is constant.
Thanksgiving dispels the illusion that life is hopeless. There is beauty and grace even in tragedy. God has revealed Himself and is active in this world. All you have to do is look. Looking for God’s presence in the midst of difficulty and darkness helps build trust. He is always there.
Sixth, be filled with the Holy Spirit
For those who put their faith in Christ, the Holy Spirit permanently makes their home among them. You can always rely on the Holy Spirit to guide you closer to Jesus.
Jesus knew His disciples would be troubled by the news of His impending death. They might worry about being abandoned if you abandoned them. As a result, He told them this to ease their minds.
On the other hand, the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have said to you. As stated in (John 14:26 New International Version)
The Holy Spirit brings consolation and truthful remembrance. If you listen to the Spirit, you’ll learn to obey. You can rely on him for guidance.
Feelings of helplessness and anxiety over the future are common obstacles to overcome during trying times. Struggles can be lessened when you follow the Spirit’s promptings. It’s not always the big picture that He shows you, but it is always the next step.
The Spirit will guide you and assure you that you are not on your own if you walk in step with Him. To put it another way, God is not far off. He stands by you when times are tough. The door is opening because of him.

To wait for the Lord, number seven
Do what the Holy Spirit tells you to do. It’s necessary to wait at times. Don’t give up your pursuit of God, but be patient as you wait for His timing. Be patient and watch for Him to intervene. Do not try to do what only He can.
When the Israelites feared that God had abandoned them, he addressed their concerns in the book of Isaiah. He tells them that He is always working; He never stops. He is always aware of them, and he is always looking out for their best interests.
Those who put their trust in the LORD will find new strength within themselves, so that they can soar like an eagle, run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint. Quote from Isaiah 40:31 (ESV)
If you wait patiently with his assistance, he will make the time pass quickly. You are reminded of your own helplessness as you wait on the Lord. God bless you! He has greater significance than your current situation. As you wait, He will strengthen your faith and keep you going.
To put it simply, God will never ignore you. Though it may seem like He isn’t listening, take comfort in the fact that He has promised to answer your prayers at all times.
