The Bible talks about giving one’s life for another many times. The most important thing is to keep your faith in Jesus Christ and love others unconditionally. This means that we should commit ourselves to a life of service to help others, as well as helping people who are less fortunate than us.
If you love God, you don’t need other people to love you. You’re laying down your life for God whether they like it or not. If they are not willing to lay down their lives for others, then don’t worry about them…love God with all of your heart.
Bible Verses About Laying Down Your Life
1 Peter 4:15—But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters. Even if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed but under that name let him glorify God.
Matthew 10:38-39
“Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.”
John 15:13
“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”
“For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.” (Matthew 16:25)
“Whoever is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.” (Luke 9:26)
Matthew 16:24-26 (NIV)
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? Matthew 10:38-39 (NIV)
And if anyone gives you a cup of water because you belong to Christ, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward. But he who plays the rebel against me by not accepting my words has already been judged.” Luke 9:23-25 (NIV)
Jesus replied, “If anyone wants to come with me, they must forget themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it… If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple.”
-Matthew 16:24 — Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

Colossians 3:9-11
The Bible is filled with a variety of different types of passages and topics. These range from love, to hope, to death and everything in between. It can be easy to forget that the Bible is also a collection of stories and parables that are meant to teach us valuable lessons about life. One such story is The Prodigal Son, which is about a father who has two sons and one of them asks for his inheritance early. The son then goes out into the world and squanders his money on “riotous living.” When he realizes how foolish he has been, he returns home where his father welcomes him back with open arms.
This story teaches us many valuable lessons about forgiveness, unconditional love and mercy but today we’re going to focus on two specific ones; lying on others, and false witness against your neighbor (Exodus 20:16).
The Bible teaches us to love our neighbor as ourselves. This means that we should be honest with others and not lie to them. The following verses teach us that lying can hurt the person who is lied to, as well as the liar:
“For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Matthew 5:46-48
“Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.” James 4:11-12
“A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who tells lies will perish.” Proverbs 19:5 ESV
Bible Verse About Giving Your Life
“And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of things he possesses.” Luke 12:15 (NASB)
Bible Verse About Lying On Others
“Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices, and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him.” Ephesians 4:25-27 (NASB)
“And everyone who hears these words of mine, and acts on them, will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain poured down, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine but does not act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain poured down, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. And it collapsed and was completely ruined.” (Matthew 7:24-27)
“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 3:11)
“Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the fatherless.” (Isaiah 10:1-3)
“Do not lie to each other,” says Peter. “You have taken off your old self with its practices
“Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.” (Colossians 3:9-10)
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.” (John 14:15)
“He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous shall flourish like foliage.” (Proverbs 11:28)
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” (Matthew 5:6)
“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Matthew 6:21)
“You cannot serve both God and money.” (Matthew 6:24)
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)
For this is the message that you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. (1 John 3:11)
Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. Here there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all. (Colossians 3:9-11)
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
2 Timothy 3:1-5
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive and disobedient to their parents. They will be ungrateful and unholy. They will be without love for others and without self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good.”
