In the Bible, there are no verses that specifically mention wearing trousers. However, there are some verses that can be used to support the view that wearing trousers is acceptable.

John 19:23-24

When Jesus was crucified He was dressed in a tunic and linen cloth (sindon). This was a common garment worn by men at the time. In John 19:23-24 we see that the soldiers cast lots for Jesus’ garments which they had stripped off after He died on the cross. They did not tear them off because they were made of linen cloth, but because they are pants or shorts.

Isaiah 3:16-24 – Women’s clothing (trousers) is highlighted as an example of what God despises in this passage. If women’s clothing was forbidden then men’s clothing must have been accepted.

1 Samuel 17:38 – David wears Saul’s armor when he defeats Goliath in single combat. This would not have been possible if he was wearing skirts or robes like many people believe David wore at this time; it would have hampered him greatly in his movements and fighting style.
