Prayer For Dad

I spent most of my life addicted to drugs and alcohol, trying to fill the void in my soul. When I hit rock bottom I was introduced to recovery. In recovery, it was suggested that I take a look at my father, my relationship with him, and how much time I spend praying for Dad. My father was not a bad person. He fell into the disease of addiction and it took over his life.

Our dad was diagnosed. He needs a kidney and pancreas transplant. His wife died two years ago and he has been overcompensating for our emotional loss. We miss him terribly!!! We are suffering from grief, we don’t know how to move on!!! Please pray for miracles to change in our life.

Dad, you were there when I was playing in the yard, as a teenager and adult, and as a parent. Watching over me as I played outside, telling me to be careful while walking the dog, and praying with me on that hard day when my daughter was born. I love trying to remember the good times we had together and spending time with your granddaughters. I try to carry on your examples of character, integrity, hard work, humility, faithfulness and selflessness in my own life.

Prayer For Dad

Prayer For Dad

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come to you in prayer for our dad, who is having a hard time dealing with his illness. We ask that you would help him to find peace and comfort in your arms. Please give him the strength he needs to fight this battle. Help him to know that you are with him always. Thank you for hearing our prayer, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen

Father, You are a God of the impossible. You can transform our situation and make things work out for good. Deliver my Dad from his pain and suffering, heal him from his injuries. Let him go through this trial with his faith intact and strengthened. Strengthen me as well through this difficult time in our lives. I pray that he will be able to come home soon so we can be together again as a family. In Jesus name, Amen

Father, I thank you for my father. You have given him to me as a gift, and I pray that I may never take this blessing for granted.

Father, help me to be patient with my dad. We are all sinners in need of redemption and forgiveness. I pray that through his own mistakes he will learn from them and know that it is not too late for him to change his ways.

Father, please give my dad the strength he needs on a daily basis to face life’s challenges with courage and confidence in your love for him. Help him not to be weighed down by anxieties or fears but rather see each day as an opportunity to do good works in your name.

I pray that my dad will remember that he is not alone in this world because there are people who love him very much – including me!

Lord, you are the Father of all. You have given us many wonderful gifts, a large part of which is our fathers. Thank you for giving us fathers who teach us how to be men and women, who guide us through life, who help us make good decisions, who support us in our endeavors, and who ensure that we are always loved and cared for.

Lord, bless my father today and every day. May his heart be filled with joy and peace as he serves as both a father and grandfather to those around him. May he enjoy the fruits of his labor and reap the rewards of being a man of God.

Lord, I pray for peace in his home; may there be love in all its forms among family members. Give him strength to deal with any challenges that come his way so that he can continue to be a great example for those around him. Let him know that no matter what happens or how old he gets, you will always be there with him every step of the way!

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the lives of our fathers. We thank you for the ways they have been used by you to teach us about your love and grace and to conform us to your likeness. We thank you for their example, for the way they have shaped us into who we are today.

We pray that our hearts would be softened towards them as we remember all that they have done and continue to do from a place of gratitude.

Lord, heal any wounds in our relationship with our fathers and bring healing to any areas where there has been hurt or unresolved issues between us. Help us to be open to your leading as we seek reconciliation with those who have hurt us or offended us and as we seek forgiveness when we have wronged another person.

We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen

I pray for my dad, who is struggling to get his life back together after a recent job loss.

I pray that he will find peace and joy in his current situation, even though it’s hard for him.

I pray for guidance from God as I help him through this difficult time.

I pray that he will find another job soon so that he can be happy again!

Dear God,

We come before you to ask for your blessing on our father. We know that he is a good man and that he always does his best. We pray that he will continue to make the right choices in life, and that he will always be healthy and happy.

We pray also that if there is anything we can do to help him in his struggle with cancer, please let us know what it is. Please guide us as we make decisions about his care, so that we can give him the best care possible.

We ask these things in your name, amen

God, thank You for the gift of my father. I pray that he is safe and healthy and surrounded by those who love him.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take.

Amen

I pray that You will bless him with good health and peace of mind so that he will have the strength to face the challenges of this world.

I pray that his heart will be filled with Your love, and may he find comfort in knowing that there is a God who cares about him and loves him more than anything else in this world.

Please grant me wisdom as I deal with my father’s illness, so that I can help him through this difficult time.

God, please grant me patience as I wait for my father to recover from this illness.

I pray for healing from cancer in his body; for comfort during his treatments; and for peace during his hospital stays.

I pray for strength during all of these trials so that we may be able to rely on each other during this difficult time.

Dear God,

We come before you today and ask that you heal my father. He has been in pain for some time now, and we are worried about him. Please help him to rest in peace and comfort and to be at ease with all of his troubles.

Please help us to be able to care for him as he ages, and to be able to show our love for him in the best way possible. Help us to remember the good times, and not dwell on the bad. Give us strength when we need it most, and give us comfort during this difficult time.

Lord, please bless my father with health and happiness, because he deserves it and so much more. Amen

Dear God,

Please watch over my father. I ask that you keep him safe, that you give him strength and peace, and that you guide him through the difficult time ahead. Please help me to be strong for him, to be compassionate, to have faith in You and your plan for us.

I know that it was not Your will for this to happen to my father or anyone else. But I also know that You are good and You love us all—even those who do not believe in You—and that You are always there with us in our times of need. I pray that we can find strength through this tragedy and that we can find peace when everything seems chaotic around us.

Allah (SWT) is the Most Merciful and He loves to forgive. He is also the most Loving and has a special place in His heart for His children. Our father’s are our role models, protectors, providers and friends. As children we look up to them as role models and learn from them how to live life. They teach us how to be good Muslims and help us understand what it means to be a Muslim. We pray that Allah grants us all good health and long life so that we can continue praying on them until they are no longer with us in this world.

Prayer For My Father: O Allah! You know that my father has been good to me and has been kind towards me; he has raised me since my childhood, so please grant him a long life so that he may continue to raise me until I become mature enough to take care of myself; make him well-off in this world so that he may not be dependent on anyone else; make him attain happiness both in this world as well as in the Hereafter; keep him away from all kinds of harm so that he may remain safe from all dangers of fit

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The parable of the believers in their affection, mutual kindness and compassion is that of one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever.”

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “None of you believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.”

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “All mankind is a family of God, His children. The best among them are those who are best to their wives.”

Allah says in the Qur’an: “And always treat them kindly.” [Noble Qur’an 4:19]

My Lord, forgive me and my parents and whoever enters my house a believer and the believing men and believing women. And do not increase the wrongdoers except in destruction.”

This Dua not only asks for forgiveness for your parents but also for yourself and the entire Muslim ummah.

Transliteration: Rabbana ghfir li wa li wallidayya wa lil Mu’mineena yawma yaqumul hisaab
Translation: “Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents, and (all) the believers on the Day when the reckoning will be established.” Surah Ibrahim ayah 41

DUA FOR PARENTS HAPPINESS

In Surah Al-Ahqaf Verse 15:

“And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says,

RabbiawziAAnee an ashkura niAAmataka allatee anAAamta AAalayya waAAalawalidayya waan aAAmala salihan tardahuwaaslih lee fee thurriyyatee innee tubtuilayka wa-innee mina almuslimeen

The translation or meaning of this Dua: “My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims.”

This Dua not only asks for forgiveness for your parents but for youself and for your own children.

DUA FOR PARENTS HEALTH AND LONG LIFE
Seeing your loved ones go through sickness can be a very difficult. Most of what you can do is be there for support and let them know they are not going through it alone.

Uthman b. Abu al-‘As Al-Thaqafi reported that he made a complaint of pain to Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) that he felt in his body at the time he had become Muslim. Thereupon Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: Place your hand at the place where you feel pain in your body and say Bismillah (in the name of Allah) three times and seven times A’udhu billahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu was uhadhiru (I seek refuge with Allah and with His Power from the evil that I find and that I fear).

In another hadith narrated from ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her)

that when the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came to a sick person or a sick person was brought to him, he would say:

“Adhhib al-ba’s Rabb an-naas, wa’shfi anta al-Shaafi, laa shifaa’a illa shifaa’uka shifaa’an laa yughaadir saqaman”

(Take away the pain, O Lord of mankind, and grant healing, for You are the Healer, and there is no healing but Your healing that leaves no trace of sickness).” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5351, Muslim, 2191.

BE NICE TO YOUR PARENTS WHILE THEY ARE AROUND
“Every soul will taste death”

This quote from Surah Imran is very powerful. It’s a reminder, we are all going to die someday. It can be a scary thought (and maybe that’s why some avoid thinking about it) but it can also be very freeing.

Here’s a little mental exercise for you to try out. Next time you’re hanging out with family or friends think to yourself, this moment may be the last time you ever see any of them.

You may think that’s a sure way to depression or really morbid but I don’t believe it really is. Most people take life for granted because they just expect that tomorrow will come just like yesterday. But we all know this is not true, your brother, sister, mom or dad can and will pass away.

That’s unfortunately reality.

If in every moment we could briefly remember our demise I think we would grow to be more appreciative of living in the moment. I also believe we would be more patient and kind, if someone insults would you take it as personally if you didn’t operate with that perspective. Being able to take a step back and see the bigger picture allows you to deatch yourself from a knee-jerk reaction

Another benefit of this is since you’re constantly living in the moment, when the time inevitable time comes of a close one passing, we can take comfort that we didn’t take it for granted. That we tried to squeeze every experience out of that moment. Don’t get me wrong, grieving will still be tough but at least it wouldn’t be filled with regret which can linger.

3 Concluding Verses From Quran About Parents:

Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and be kind to parents. (Surah An-Nisa ayah 36)

Your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him and be good to your parents. Whether one or both of them reach old age while with you, do not say to them even a mild rebuke and do not repel them but rather speak to them a noble word. Lower for them the wing of humility out of mercy and say: My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up when I was small. (Surah Al-Isra Ayat 23-24)
