A dog’s dead dog prayer I don’t know how that took place. He was great one day and gone the next. To say that I’m devastated would be an understatement. It still seems unreal. I simply want this to all be over as I type this. But it’s not disappearing; dead dogs don’t have a reputation for dissipating into thin air. Strangely, despite the fact that the term “dead” appears in the previous line, it doesn’t even seem real. He is sitting next me as if nothing has occurred, and it seems like a nightmare from which I will soon awaken. But if only.

Following this, the dog was euthanized. I hope it educates animal owners generally and serves as a sobering example of what may occur when calamity hits without warning.

Dear Lord,

I come before you as a broken woman. I am beyond heartbroken. My baby girl is gone, and I cannot imagine life without her. My husband and I have been married for 15 years, and we have never been through anything like this. We have always had a great marriage and a beautiful family. We have 4 children, 2 of which are still at home with us. They are completely devastated by the loss of their little sister. We were so excited when we found out that she was pregnant with our first grandchild. She was due in August, but she died shortly after delivering her baby girl on July 22nd at 6:03 am. She was only 2 months old when she passed away from complications related to her birth.

I ask that you comfort me in this time of grief so that I may not fall into despair over the loss of my beloved daughter and granddaughter who were taken from this earth far too soon. I will be praying for my cat who died last night and was euthanized this morning because he had kidney failure. I’m so lost without him. He was such a good friend and companion for the past 17 years.

I lost my beloved cat last week after 18 years of being together. He had been diagnosed with liver cancer about three weeks before he passed away, and his condition deteriorated quickly over those few weeks until he stopped eating and drinking altogether, which was the day before he died. It was very difficult to watch him go through this, but I know it was kinder to put him down than let him suffer any longer than necessary. He was only one year older than me, so it’s still difficult to believe he’s gone, but at least he didn’t suffer too much before going peacefully in his sleep on Sunday morning while I was at work!
