The Bible is an amazing book, full of wisdom. One of my favorite Bible verses is Ecclesiastes 11:3, which says “If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth. And if a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it will lie.” This verse reminds me not to take life so seriously. There are certain things in life that you can’t control.
You probably already know that the Bible has a lot to say about the water. In fact, it has just as much to say about lakes specifically as it does about water. I have combed through the scriptures and pulled out some of my favorite verses that relate to lakes and put them together into one paragraph for you. The result is an interesting compilation of Bible verse excerpts regarding lakes.
Bible Verses About Lakes
Lakes are a beautiful sight to behold. They are peaceful and quiet, and they provide a calm place to enjoy the outdoors. Lakes are also used as metaphors in scripture, so here are some Bible verses about lakes:
- “The waters became like ink, as black as sackcloth.” -Revelation 6:12
- “And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.” -Revelation 9:3

The Bible includes both the Old Testament and New Testament and is divided into two sections: The Law (the first five books) and the Prophets (the rest).
