Bible Verses About Lakes

The Bible is an amazing book, full of wisdom. One of my favorite Bible verses is Ecclesiastes 11:3, which says “If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth. And if a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it will lie.” This verse reminds me not to take life so seriously. There are certain things in life that you can’t control.

You probably already know that the Bible has a lot to say about the water. In fact, it has just as much to say about lakes specifically as it does about water. I have combed through the scriptures and pulled out some of my favorite verses that relate to lakes and put them together into one paragraph for you. The result is an interesting compilation of Bible verse excerpts regarding lakes.

Bible Verses About Lakes

Lakes are a beautiful sight to behold. They are peaceful and quiet, and they provide a calm place to enjoy the outdoors. Lakes are also used as metaphors in scripture, so here are some Bible verses about lakes:

  1. “The waters became like ink, as black as sackcloth.” -Revelation 6:12
  2. “And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.” -Revelation 9:3
  3. “And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him.” -Revelation 6:8

The Bible has a lot to say about lakes, and we’re going to take a look at some of the most prominent verses.

The water of the lake will become bitter, and all living creatures in it will die. The streams of water will become foul, and the springs of water will become bitter. The land will be ruined by the plague of hail, for the Lord will bring a great hailstorm against all the land. (Joel 2:20-21)

Mark 11:23-24, “For truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

John 7:37-39, “On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.’ He who believes in me…out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

Psalm 107:15-16; 22-23; 24-25; 28-29; 30-31; 32-33; 34-35; 38-39,”They were glad when they reached [the city]; they went into the house of the Lord. The priests’ blessing [was on] their heads as they entered with shouts of joy and thanksgiving into the Lord’s temple.”

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. “As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven saying, ‘You are my Son whom I love; with you I am well pleased.'” Mark 1:10-11

“The sun rises and goes down; it hastens to the place where it rises.” Ecclesiastes 1:5

“And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” Genesis 1:3

The Bible is full of verses about water. In this article, we’ll explore some of the most beautiful and powerful passages.

1 Corinthians 10:1-4 (NIV)

For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our fathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food; they all drank the same spiritual drink, for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.

  1. Psalm 46:3 – God is a refuge for us. A strong tower, where we can run and not be ashamed. He is our place of safety, and we can go to him with all our worries.
  2. Psalm 33:6-7 – For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. And the Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The Lord Almighty has planned this for us and will do it!
  3. Job 26:8 – He draws up the drops of water; they distill his mist in rain which the skies pour down and drop on mankind abundantly.

Bible Verses About Water

The Bible is a library of 66 books that provide the foundation for the Christian faith. It is widely considered the most influential book in history, having been translated into 2,000 languages and dialects.

The Bible includes both the Old Testament and New Testament and is divided into two sections: The Law (the first five books) and the Prophets (the rest).

The Bible was written over a period of about 1,500 years by more than 40 authors from many walks of life: kings, shepherds, fishermen, farmers, poets and scholars. Through these men God spoke His word to us in written form.

God created everything that exists on earth including waterfalls. Waterfalls are beautiful creations of God’s creation.

Below we have listed some Bible verses about waterfalls to inspire you:
