It has been a very long time since I have been healthy. It doesn’t look like I’ll be feeling better any time soon. Indeed, I feel considerably worse than before. I am so sick that words fail me. Most days, I feel down, nervous, and hopeless, and it grows worse no matter how much I attempt to get well by according to my physicians’ orders. Weirdly, I don’t want to give up trying or talking about it, but I also feel helpless in the face of my illness.

Dear Lord,

Please heal me from this illness that I have. I am in so much pain and I can’t even function anymore. I know that you are a good God and you will heal me. Please take away all the pain that is in my body, mind, and soul. Please help me to get well soon. In Jesus name I pray Amen.

Dear God,

I pray that you will heal my body and make me well again. Please help me to get better soon. I want to feel healthy and strong again. Please restore my strength so that I can do the things I want to do. I pray for peace of mind, so that I may know how to deal with this illness. Forgive me for being impatient with my body or for not taking care of it properly. Help me to make better choices about what I eat and drink, so that my body can be strong and healthy again. Help me to be more careful about what goes into my body; help me to think about what is good for my health and what isn’t good for it. Bless all those who are caring for me while I am sick – doctors, nurses, medical technicians, family members – as they work hard on my behalf. Help them not to become discouraged by this difficult time in their lives; give them strength and courage to do whatever needs doing with patience and love until I get better again. Prayer for Healing

Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name I ask that You would please heal me of this pain and sickness in my body. Dear Lord, I know that You can heal me if it be Your will. I believe that Your Word says “by whose stripes we are healed”. I thank You for Your promise in Mark 11:24 wherein Jesus said “what things soever ye desire, when ye pray believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them”. In Jesus’ Name I pray amen

Prayer for healing is a petition to God for divine intervention for the purpose of restoring health. Healing is an integral part of Christianity, both in its teachings and in its practices.

In the New Testament, Jesus heals ten lepers, a paralytic, and Jairus’ daughter, a miracle which leads some of his disciples to believe that he is the Messiah (Matthew 8:1–4; Mark 1:40–45; Luke 5:12–15). In John 5:1–18, Jesus heals a man who was lame from birth by telling him to take up his bed and walk. Jesus then tells the man “your faith has made you whole” (John 5:5).

In the Old Testament there are various accounts of God performing miracles of healing. For example, Exodus 15:26 describes how God provided Moses with a cure for leprosy after Moses prayed on behalf of some Israelites with this disease; Exodus 21 states that if someone is injured and forced to work as a consequence they will not be held responsible for damages caused by their condition; Numbers 12 tells how Miriam became leprous after criticizing Moses’ marriage and was healed after repenting; 2 Kings 20 tells how Naaman

Open the eyes of my heart. May I see the many blessings you bestow on me, especially the very small ones that I sometimes take for granted.
