In the Bible, serpents are mentioned several times as being part of the Creation. In Genesis 1:21, God created all the creatures on Earth, including “great whales and every living creature that moves.” But the book of Revelation has a different take on snakes. It says that Satan is portrayed as a serpent and that he was thrown down to Earth for his rebellion against God.

In biblical times, scorpions were common in Palestine and were considered as dangerous pests by people who lived there. People would often keep scorpions as pets!
The Bible refers to several different kinds of serpents and scorpions.
Serpent
The serpent symbolizes Satan and his followers. In the Garden of Eden, the serpent tempted Eve with a lie, which led to her disobedience to God. This is why the serpent is often associated with evil in the Bible.
Scorpion
In the book of Revelation, Jesus will crush a scorpion that comes out of the mouth of the dragon (Revelation 12:3). The scorpion symbolizes Satan’s power over people who do not believe in Christ.
In the Bible, serpents and scorpions represent evil. In the Old Testament, serpents are often associated with the devil. In Genesis, for example, a serpent tempts Adam and Eve to eat fruit from the tree of knowledge. In the New Testament, Jesus is compared to a serpent when he heals people by casting out demons (Mark 3:7).
Scorpions also represent evil in at least two Bible passages. In Psalm 91:5-6, God promises to protect his people from wild animals like lions and bears. However, he will not protect them from serpents or scorpions because they are “unclean” creatures that live in waste places (see also Isaiah 11:8).
The Bible says little else about these creatures beyond this brief mention. It doesn’t explain why they are considered unclean or why they must live in waste places or why they’re associated with evil. We can only speculate on these questions based on what we know about them today.
Serpents and scorpions are mentioned in the Bible. Both are types of animal that can be dangerous to people, but they were also used in the healing arts.
Serpents were used in the healing arts as early as the time of Moses (Exodus 7:15-20). The serpent was considered a symbol of wisdom (Proverbs 30:19) and healing. The Bible contains several references to serpents, but it seems that the word serpent has been used in a variety of ways.
In Genesis 3:1-4 we read about the temptation of Eve by Satan: “Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which Jehovah God had made. And he said to the woman: Why has God said: ‘You should not eat from every tree of paradise’? The woman said to the serpent: We may eat from the fruitage of trees, but God has said about the fruitage of the tree that is in the middle of paradise: You must not eat from it and you must not touch it, lest you die!” (Genesis 3:1-3).
The serpent was able to talk with Eve and he used his ability to deceive her with lies. He told her that there was nothing wrong with eating from this forbidden tree; rather, she would become as wise as God Himself if she ate its fruit. This is why we find in verse 4 that Eve took some fruit from this tree and ate it together with her husband, Adam. Both were then banished from paradise because they disobeyed God’s commandment.
