However, if we don’t act in accordance with our values and principles, the words and deeds we utter and do lose their impact. Their worth is gradually diminishing. Being “middle of the road,” or on the fence between right and wrong, is a position I don’t think has any value. What follows is further information about Bible verses that talk about being on the fence.

Christian Straddlers are the target audience of this blog. Those who straddle the fence need to hear God’s Word read in a way that cuts through their thick skulls. For the Word to have any impact on individuals, it must be related specifically to their situation. Romans 8:1-39 ESV / 5 helpful votes
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. …

But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property, and with his wife’s knowledge he kept back for himself some of the proceeds and brought only a part of it and laid it at the apostles’ feet. But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? Why is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.” When Ananias heard these words, he fell down and breathed his last. And great fear came upon all who heard of it. …

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks. By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. …

Then Jesus, knowing all that would happen to him, came forward and said to them, “Whom do you seek?” They answered him, “Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus said to them, “I am he.” Judas, who betrayed him, was standing with them. …

What Does Straddling The Fence Mean

Straying from the middle ground and taking a stance.

A person who straddles the fence is indecisive and avoids taking sides or making decisions. A person who straddles the fence may be unwilling to commit to a relationship or job because they are afraid of losing it if they make a commitment. They may also be afraid that if they choose one option, they will miss out on something better.

When you’re straddling the fence, you’re not really choosing either side or option. You’re trying to keep your options open by remaining neutral, but at the same time, this is not always easy to do.

Straddling the fence is when someone doesn’t take a clear position on an issue.

The phrase is often used to describe politicians who are unwilling to take a stand on a controversial issue, or people who refuse to commit themselves to one side or the other.

It’s also used in business and finance to describe someone who is involved in two opposing sides of a transaction.

Straddling the fence means not taking a position on an issue.

It’s a phrase that originated in the 19th century, when it referred to farmers who straddled fences in order to avoid being drafted into their local militias. If you straddle a fence, you are sitting on top of it and not committing yourself to either side. Today, it means someone who is undecided or ambiguous about something.

Straddling the fence can also be used as an insult, meaning someone who tries to please everyone and ends up pleasing no one.

Straddling the fence is when someone or something is in two opposing groups, or holding two opinions at one time.

Example: “Jane straddles the fence on the issue of abortion. She says she’s for it, but she won’t march with us.”

The term was originally used to describe a person who sat on top of a fence to watch a fight between two groups of people. The person was not involved in either side but did not want to get involved in the fight.

I have straddled the fence a few times in my life. When I was a kid I lived in a neighborhood where everyone straddled it. We were all poor, but we had nice houses and nice cars, so no one wanted to admit it. That’s why we straddled the fence – because we wanted to keep up appearances while still getting what we wanted.

As an adult, I’m still straddling the fence. It’s not as easy as it used to be when you were a kid though. You can’t just pretend that everything is fine and that nothing has changed if things are really bad at home.

I feel like I am split in two on this issue – half of me wants to tell you about how great things are at home for us and half of me wants to tell you about how hard things are and how much I struggle every day just to keep my head above water financially, emotionally and physically with all these health issues going on around me!

Bible Verses About Sitting On The Fence

So if you are on a fence, what is it that is keeping you from making a decision?

There is no middle ground in the eyes of God. You are either for Him or against Him. There is no neutrality in the spiritual realm. You can sit on the fence all day long and you won’t make any difference. In fact, the Bible clearly states that sitting on the fence will actually cause you to lose your head (Lk 2:34).

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” (2 Corinthians 6:14-17)

Proverbs 14:9 ESV

9 In the light of the king’s face is life, and his favor is like a cloud of the latter rain.

Psalm 1:1-3 ESV

1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;

2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.

I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.

Deuteronomy 30:19 (NKJV)

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]

John 16:33 (AMP)

The Bible is full of wisdom and guidance for us to live our lives in a way that pleases God. It also contains many examples of people who lived exemplary lives, and how they were able to do so. One such example is King Jehoshaphat, who was able to lead his people through difficult times because he sought the will of God in all things.

In the following passage, we see how he was able to do this:

“Jehoshaphat made an alliance with Ahab through marriage, making his son succeed him on the throne of Judah. Jehoshaphat was thirty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Azubah daughter of Shilhi. And he kept doing what was right in the eyes of the LORD as his father Asa had done; he did not turn away from it all his life.” (2 Chronicles 20:35-37)

King Jehoshaphat knew that if he wanted success in life, then he would have to seek God’s will for every decision that he made. He didn’t try to find excuses or make excuses for himself; instead, he made sure that everything that happened would be
