Lord, I pray that you would fill me with your Holy Spirit and help me to overcome lust. I know that it is a powerful stronghold that causes many people to sin and fall away from you. Please grant me the grace to be free from this sin and all others.

Lord Jesus, I need your help to overcome lustful thoughts. I realize that these thoughts come from the devil and not from my heart. But because of my weakness, I cannot fight them on my own. So please help me keep my mind pure and holy. Help me fight against evil thoughts by filling me with your Holy Spirit so that I may be set free from this sin.

In Jesus’ name I pray, amen

Prayer for the Overcoming of Lust

O God, the Creator of all things, who alone art holy and just and good, I thank Thee for the gift of this day and for the light of Thy countenance. I thank Thee also for the many blessings Thou hast bestowed upon me and mine. In particular, I am grateful that I am not given over to sexual immorality or impurity of any kind, but have been delivered from these things through Christ our Lord.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner. Forgive my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness; make me pure in thought and deed; grant that I may glorify Thee always as my Savior, Redeemer and Master. May Thy Holy Spirit dwell within me until this mortal life is ended and I am with Thee in Paradise forevermore. Amen

Dear Father,

I come to you today with a heart that is heavy with the burden of lust. I am here to confess my sin and ask for your forgiveness.

I know that you have already forgiven me, but I also know that this is just one of many sins I have committed against you. So I come today with a humble heart to ask that you would help me overcome this sin, and restore my purity of mind and body.

Lord, I pray that you would help me fight against my lustful thoughts. Help me to think pure thoughts, and not dwell on those things which are unclean. Help me to use my time wisely so that I may serve you better in this life than by being distracted by these evil desires.

I pray that you would help me overcome temptation by keeping it from entering into my life in the first place. Lord, send your angels to guard us at all times, so that we might walk about safely in our daily lives without succumbing to the temptations of Satan who prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8).

Finally Lord, I pray that if we do fall into temptation’s snare (1 Corinthians 10:

Scriptures To Pray Against Lust

It’s easy to fall into lust. It’s hard to fight it. Lust robs us of the things we love most, and leaves us empty and longing for more.

I find that the best way to fight lust is through prayer.

Scriptures To Pray Against Lust

Psalm 27:4-6; Psalm 119:11; Proverbs 6:24; 1 Corinthians 6:18-19; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21, 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8

Lust is a sin that many people struggle with. The Bible clearly teaches that the sin of lust is a serious one and should be dealt with quickly.

The following prayer is a good example of how to pray against lust:

“Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your mercy and grace. Please forgive me for the times that I have not lived in accordance to Your Word. Please help me to live as Jesus did, without sin.

Please help me to resist temptation and keep my eyes focused on You alone. Please deliver me from this evil desire and help me to walk in purity and holiness before You always. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

There are many scriptures to pray against lust. For example, Psalm 119:37 says, “Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways” (NIV). The Bible teaches us to avoid what is evil and sinful.

In addition, the Bible tells us that we should not be drunk with wine but filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). God wants us to be controlled by Him and not by our sinful nature.

The following are some scriptures that can help you pray against lust:

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. —Psalm 119:11

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword. It pierces to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing our innermost thoughts and desires. —Hebrews 4:12

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. —Psalm 19:14

How To Break The Stronghold Of Lust

Lust is a very powerful stronghold. It can take control of your mind, body and soul. Lust can be defined as an excessive attachment to sexual pleasure. The Bible says, “Flee from sexual immorality” (1 Corinthians 6:18).

Lust is a sin that can destroy your life, relationships and even your family if it isn’t broken.

The good news is that you can break free from this stronghold! You can be free from lust!

Here are some ways to break the stronghold of lust:

  1. Pray against it
  2. Read God’s word
  3. Ask someone to hold you accountable

The first thing you need to do is to ask God to help you. The Bible says that we can’t break a stronghold on our own. In fact, God will not allow us to break it unless He is in the process.

Ask God to help you break the strongholds of lust in your life. Then commit yourself to breaking these strongholds by asking Him for His guidance and direction each day.

The second thing you need to do is take action. You cannot just sit back and expect everything to happen without any effort on your part! Take action by developing a plan of attack against the stronghold of lust in your life. You can’t be passive and just hope that it will go away!

The third thing that you must do is develop a strategy for overcoming this stronghold by studying what God’s Word has to say about it. For example: Jesus said that if we look at a woman with lust in our hearts then we have already committed adultery with her (Matthew 5:27-28). This shows us that we must guard our hearts at all times so they are not defiled by sin (Proverbs 4:23). We must also guard ourselves against being alone with an unbeliever because Satan often uses people’s bodies as temptation (

Lust is an intense desire for something. Lust can take many forms, including sexual desire, enjoyment of food and other physical desires.

Lust is considered to be a sin in many religions, including Christianity and Judaism.

The Bible says that God made us to have sex within marriage. But it also says that we must control our bodies and not let them control us (see 1 Corinthians 6:19).

Here are some ways to break the stronghold of lust:

  1. Pray. Ask God to help you overcome lustful thoughts and urges.
  2. Get rid of inappropriate things in your life that could trigger lustful thoughts or images — such as movies or magazines with nudity or sexual content.
  3. Don’t look at pornography or visit pornographic websites on the internet, even if you’re single! If you find yourself getting tempted by them, don’t give up hope! Just try again later when you’re feeling stronger than the temptation (Romans 12:21).
  4. Spend time with friends who don’t share your interest in lustful activities; spend time with them doing wholesome activities instead! (1 Corinthians 15:33)

God’s Word instructs us to flee sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18). However, the Bible doesn’t just tell us to flee, but also to fight.

Let’s look at what Paul wrote in Galatians 5:16-25.

“Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”

“For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.”

“But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.”

“Now the works of the flesh are evident, among which are fornication, impurity, sensuality… idolatry… witchcraft… hatred… variance… emulations… wrath… strife… seditions…”

I have been in this situation and I know that it’s hard. But God still loves you and wants to help you fight these temptations. The first thing I would recommend is to start reading your Bible every day. It will help you get closer to God, who will be there for you when no one else is. You can also ask Him for help, because He is always there for us.

You can also pray to God every day and He will help you in any way possible. Another thing that helps me when I’m tempted by lust is to call a friend or family member and talk about something else besides the temptation. If your friends are Christians, then they might be able to help you out as well.
