Prayers To Jesus In Bible

Greetings and salutations, Internet traveller. You have found yourself here because you were interested in learning more about the subject of Prayers To Jesus In the Bible. I myself am an expert on this topic and can provide helpful information that you may find valuable. Before we go any further, however, let me first offer some basic background information about this subject. This can be a touchy subject for some people, but also one with quite a bit of depth to it.

Prayers to Jesus in the Bible are found in many of the books in the New Testament of the Christian Bible. Less common are prayers to other figures in the Bible, particularly in early Christianity. The word Jesus is used as a proper noun throughout this article and will be capitalized.

Jesus taught us how to pray, and Jesus answered prayers, but do you know the actual words that He prayed? One of the benefits of having a relationship with Jesus and his Holy Spirit, is that we can communicate with Him and He will answer our prayer. In John 14:12, Jesus makes this promise. “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to My Father.”

Prayers To Jesus In Bible

You can pray to Jesus in several ways. You can pray directly to him, you can ask him for help, and you can praise him. But if you want to be more specific with your prayer, there are certain things that you can do.

Here are some prayers you can say to Jesus:

Thank/praise/adore Him for what He has done for you or given you

Ask Him for strength or courage

Ask Him to forgive your sins

Ask Him to heal someone (you or someone else) who is sick or injured

Ask Him to protect you from danger

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever. Amen.

The Sinner’s Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy upon me a sinner.

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified; died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of body and life everlasting. Amen

The following prayer was written by me, and I hope you enjoy it.

Dear Jesus,

Thank you for being my friend. You are my best friend. I know that you love me and I love you too. I would like to ask you to help me always love myself, because without loving myself I cannot love others. Please help me to be gentle with myself and not to criticize or judge myself too harshly. There is no one who is perfect on this earth and we all make mistakes sometimes, but those mistakes do not make us bad people. We will always have things to work on in our lives, but that doesn’t mean that we are failures or bad people because of them. We are all learning how to be better people every day; and if we can learn from our mistakes then we will become better at doing many things in life! Thank you for helping me be a better person each day by helping me learn from my mistakes so that I don’t make the same ones over and over again!

Jesus is the most important person in the Bible. He is God’s Son, and He came to earth to die for us.

Jesus died on the cross to take the punishment for all of our sins, so that we can have eternal life with Him in heaven.

The Bible tells us that Jesus answered prayer and helped people in their time of need. Here are some examples:

MARK 9:25-29 (NIV)

25 When they came to Capernaum, those who collected the two-drachma tax went up to Peter and said, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax?”

26 “Yes,” he said. When he came into the house, Jesus spoke first to him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do kings of the earth collect duty and taxes—from their own children or from others?”

27 When he said, “From others,” Jesus said to him, “Then the children are exempt.”

28 But when he said, “From others,” Jesus said to him, “You are not exempt.”

The most important relationship for every one of us is our relationship with Jesus Christ. Choosing to believe that he is who he claimed to be—the Son of God and the only way to salvation—and receiving him by faith as your Lord and Savior is the most vital act anyone will ever do. We want life. He is Life. We need cleansing. He is the Living Water.

Here is a simple prayer if you have not yet given your life to Jesus and invited him into yours:

Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God, that you died on the cross to rescue me from sin and death and to restore me to the Father. I choose now to turn from my sins, my self-centeredness, and every part of my life that does not please you. I choose you. I give myself to you. I receive your forgiveness and ask you to take your rightful place in my life as my Savior and Lord. Come reign in my heart, fill me with your love and your life, and help me to become a person who is truly loving—a person like you. Restore me, Jesus. Live in me. Love through me. Thank you, God. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

A Prayer Profession Jesus As The Only Way.
Thank You, Father, for the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ Your only begotten Son, and thank You for the simple truth that salvation is found in no other Person and no other Name, for there is no other person or name given under heaven whereby we must be saved.

How I praise You that in Your grace and mercy, You have brought me to this precious understanding that Jesus alone is the only Way to heaven and that no one but Jesus is able open the door into Your holy presence.

I believe that by His blood, sinners are able to have peace with God, through believing on Him and that in Him, those of us who have trusted Christ as Saviour, may be covered in the peace of God, which passes all understanding.

I believe that we who know Him as Saviour, have been set free from slavery to sin and the curse of death, and that the day is coming when every knee will bow before His throne and every tongue will confess that. “Jesus Christ is Lord”, to the glory of God the Father.

Take my life I pray, and use it as a witness to the truth of the gospel, that Jesus Christ is the one and only way to the Father, and may many come to faith in You in the days that lie ahead, to Your praise and glory. This I ask in the name of Jesus,

Amen.

Prayer To Follow In The Steps Of Jesus
Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for the wonderful example of godly living, in humble dependence upon the Spirit of God and in loving obedience to the will of the Father.

Thank You, that by the life You lived and the death You died, that You set an example of how I too may live in spirit and truth, through humble dependence upon the Spirit of God and in loving obedience to the will of the Father.

Help me to live as unto You day by day and may I also be willing to suffer the indignity, indifference and injustice that exemplified Your life, so that like You, I too may learn obedience through the things that I may be called upon to suffer. May my life be a living reflection of You, and develop in me a pure heart of grace and love and a focussed mind, where You become the standard of my life. Give me I pray, a spirit of humility, as I seek to live as unto You, Lord Jesus, in the power of the Spirit and to the glory of God.

May the life that I live, the words that I speak, the attitude that I develop and the motives of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, my God and my Redeemer. May You be seen in me, as He starts to increase more and more in my life and as I decrease in importance, so that those with whom I come into contact will be drawn to You, Jesus, and be brought into a saving knowledge of You, to the glory of the Father.

Amen.

Prayer To Lift Up The Name Of Jesus

How we praise and magnify the lovely name of Jesus, Who set aside the glory He had in heaven with the Father before the world was made, to come to earth and be born as a man, so that through His perfect life and sacrificial death, sinners such as I may be redeemed from the pit of destruction, forgiven of our sins and have peace with God the Father.

Thank You, Jesus, that You made Yourself of no reputation and were born as a humble slave so that You could live a perfect life and become the sinless sacrifice for the sin of the whole world. Thank You, that you are the propitiation for our sins and that by believing in You we have been returned into sweet fellowship with the Father.

Dear Jesus, You alone deserve all our honour and glory and worship and praise, and I confess You as my Lord and Saviour, now and for evermore. Praise Your holy name.

Amen.

Prayer of Self-Dedication to Jesus Christ

Lord Jesus Christ, take all my freedom, my memory, my understanding, and my will. All that I have and cherish you have given me. I surrender it all to be guided by your will. Your grace and your love are wealth enough for me. Give me these, Lord Jesus, and I ask for nothing more.
Amen.

Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Most sacred, most loving Heart of Jesus, you are concealed in the Holy Eucharist, and you bear for us still.
Now, as then, you say: “With desire I have desired.” I worship you with all my best love and awe, with fervent affection, with my most subdued, most resolved will. For a while you take up your abode within me. O make my heart beat with your Heart! Purify it of all that is earthly, all that is proud and sensual, of all perversity, of all disorder.
So fill it with you, that neither the events of the day, nor the circumstance of the time, may have the power to ruffle it; but that in your love and your fear, it may have peace.
Amen.

Humbly beg Gods Grace.

O my God, Thou knowest my great poverty and misery, and that of myself I can do nothing: Thou knowest how unworthy I am of this infinite favour, and Thou alone canst make me worthy. Since Thou art so good as to invite me thus to Thyself, add this one bounty more to all the rest—to prepare me for Thyself. Never let me be guilty of Thy Body and Blood by an unworthy communion. For the sake of this same precious Blood, which Thou hast shed for me, deliver me, O Jesus, from so great an evil.
Amen.

Indulgenced Prayer.

Behold, O kind and most sweet Jesus, I cast myself on my knees in Thy sight, and with the most fervent desire of my soul, I pray and beseech Thee that Thou wouldst impress upon my heart lively sentiments of faith, hope, and charity, with true repentance for my sins, and a firm desire of amendment, while with deep affection and grief of soul I ponder within myself and mentally contemplate Thy five most precious wounds; having before my eyes that which David spake in prophecy: “They pierced My hands and My feet; they have numbered all My bones.”
Amen.

The Morning Offering

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You all my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, for the intentions of all my associates, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father this month.
Amen.

Prayer To Live My Life To The Glory Of Christ Jesus
Thank You, Father, for the saving me and bringing me into Your heavenly family and thank You for the gift of grace through Christ Jesus my Lord. Father, as I read through Christ’s intercessory prayer for His disciples on the night that He was betrayed, and for all who were to come to faith through their witness, I pray that I may be willing to face all the life-challenges that I may be called upon to endure in this fallen world, and pray that in the power of the Spirit I may live a godly life that glorifies Your holy name.

May the gentle strength and humble obedience of the Lord Jesus Christ become increasingly evident in my life, as I seek to submit to the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit of truth in my daily walk, and may Christ’s deep desire to carry out Your will and to glorify Your name, become the hallmark of my life too, so that others may see the good works that You have prepared for me to do and glorify You, Father.

May I pursue righteousness and peace, godliness and faith, patience and humility, grace and mercy. In the name of Jesus and to Your greater glory,

Amen.

Prayer To The Lord Jesus Christ
Dear Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of the living God, the promised Messiah of Israel and the only Redeemer of the world, and that You have a name that is above every name. I believe that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that You are King of kings and Lord of lords and that You alone are the one, true living God, Who is above all that is called god.

I believe Lord Jesus, that You left Your eternal throne in glory and came to earth as a baby, so that by Your perfect life and sacrificial death, You would pay the price for all my sins, so that by believing on You, I might be forgiven of my sins, clothed in Your righteousness and receive eternal life through You.

Thank You, that through all that You have accomplished by Your death, burial and resurrection, I too have life everlasting and victory over sin, Satan, death and hell. Thank You, that You died for my sins.

Thank You, that You have made it possible for me to be redeemed and transferred from the kingdom of satan into the kingdom of God. Thank You, that in You I have all that I need to ensure victory in this world, and in the world to come, life everlasting. Praise Your holy name, for ever and ever,

Amen.

What Did Jesus Have To Say About Prayer

Jesus’ teaching on prayer

Jesus Christ was a man of prayer. He often went off by himself to pray, and he taught his disciples to pray. In fact, Jesus’ teaching on prayer is so important that he said it would be answered in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Prayer is an important part of the Christian life. The Bible teaches that we should approach God in prayer with reverence and faith (Hebrews 4:16). Through prayer we can express our love for God and gain strength in times of need and difficulty (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Prayer also unites us with other believers and helps us to grow closer to Christ (Mark 11:24-25).

Jesus told his disciples how they should pray when he gave them the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13). Here are some other things Jesus said about prayer:*

“This, then, is how you should pray”*(Matthew 6:9)

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the greatest example of prayer that we can find in the Bible. He prayed constantly throughout his life, and he told his disciples to pray as well.

“And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.” – Matthew 6:7

“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.” – Matthew 26:41

“I tell you the truth: Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” (Thomas Aquinas)

Jesus is the Son of God and His teachings are a major part of Christianity. Jesus’ life was devoted to teaching others about God’s love and mercy. One of the most important ways we can learn about Jesus is by reading what He said.

Jesus taught that prayer was very important to him. He told his disciples that they should pray always (Luke 18:1). He also told them that “when you pray, go into your room and shut the door” (Matthew 6:6). It seems like he wanted them to be alone with God when they prayed so they could focus on Him and listen for his response.

The Bible says that Jesus prayed often (Mark 1:35). In fact, one time when he was praying in the garden before his arrest, Peter couldn’t find him until he looked up into heaven and saw Jesus there as if he were talking with someone (Matthew 26:36-45).

Jesus said that we should pray to the Father in secret (Matt 6:5). Jesus also taught us to pray for our daily bread, which means that we must ask God for what we need.

Jesus said that if we ask God for anything in His name, He will give it to us (John 14:14).

Jesus taught us that when we pray, we should not be like hypocrites who love to pray in public but do not want anyone to know they are praying. Rather, we should pray in secret and not let our left hand know what our right hand is doing (Matt 6:1-4).

Jesus told His disciples that if they prayed vocally or silently, they should not use vain repetitions like the heathen do when they pray (Luke 18:1-8).

  1. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
  2. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
  3. “What do you want Me to do for you?” Mark 10:51
  4. “You shall receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” Matthew 21:22
  5. “The centurion answered Him, ‘Lord, I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed.'” Matthew 8:8
  6. “And they were all amazed at the greatness of God.” Luke 5:20
  7. “Jesus said this parable because He was near Jerusalem and they thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear right away. He said therefore, “A nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and then return.’” Luke 19:11-12
