In The Beginning
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good; and God separated between day and night. Then he said “let us make man in our image after our likeness…”
So, who is this guy? A new hero on every page! He’s got it all – power, wisdom, might! Imagine you’re standing next to him as he creates life on earth – animals first then plants…
What is Pentecost?
The word Pentecost means fifty. You might have heard the term “Pentecostal” to refer to Christians who emphasize speaking in tongues or other manifestations of the Holy Spirit. This is because Pentecost is believed by many Christian denominations to be the birthday of the church and as such, it is an important day for them. It marks when God gave us his word on earth through men like Moses and John the Baptist. It also marks when he gave us his Holy Spirit which makes us into his children (Acts 2:38).
How to Pray
In order to pray effectively, you must remember that prayer is a two-way conversation with God. You are not praying to yourself; you are praying for God’s will and purpose in the world. You can become an instrument of His love and peace by learning how to talk to Him.
Here are some things to keep in mind when praying:
- Pray for God’s love and peace to be known throughout the earth.
- Pray that your life may be used by Him as He wills it, according to His perfect plan (1 Peter 4:11).
- Ask Him why He has brought you into this world (Acts 17:28).
- Seek His face daily through worship, reading Scripture, prayer and meditation (Psalm 105:4-5).
The Good Samaritan
The parable of the Good Samaritan has been used throughout history to teach us about what it means to be a good neighbor. While this story is often given as an example of how we should treat each other, it also shows us that sometimes being a good neighbor isn’t easy or convenient.
To start, let’s take a look at what it means to be a neighbor:
- A person who lives near or close by you
- The people you see every day in your neighborhood
In order to live out our faith as Christians and followers of Christ, we must be willing and able to reach out beyond ourselves and act as neighbors towards others–even if they don’t live right next door! The Bible teaches us how important our relationships with others are: “The Lord says: ‘If anyone hurts their neighbor, they hurt me.'” (Proverbs 25:21) We are all connected in God’s family together; therefore any harm done towards another brother or sister hurts God himself. This is why we need each other!
Being A Good Servent To God
A good servant is one who does not make his master wait for his service. He does not compare his master with others, or compare himself with any other servant. He knows that he is the only person who can do what he is required to do. He does it immediately, without thinking about the benefit or reward of doing so.
A good servant does not boast about his master’s greatness and power because he knows that there is no greater greatness and power than God Himself. He also knows that he will get all the rewards for his service in this world and in the Hereafter.
A good servant does not allow himself to become lazy or careless in performing his duties, even if they seem small or insignificant. He performs them with love and sincerity, because he knows that every deed has its reward whether it be large or small.
A good servant always tries hard to please his master so that his efforts will be appreciated by him. He keeps on trying until he succeeds, even if it takes time and a long effort.
Being a good servant to God is a very important thing.
Being a servant of God means that you are working for him.
As a servant of God, you are supposed to serve him with your whole heart, mind and soul. You are supposed to do what he asks you to do without complaining or being lazy. You will also live your life according to his word and not your own will.
If you want to be a good servant, here are some things that you should do:
1) Love God with all your heart, mind and soul;
2) Obey what he tells you;
3) Never disobey him;
4) Never forget who he is (The creator of the universe); and
5) Always remember that he loves you more than anyone else does!
Being A Good Servent To God
God has given us all talents and gifts to use for His glory and honor. We are to be good servants by using these talents and gifts in serving others. Each of us has different talents and gifts that we have been given by God. We should use our talents and gifts to serve one another. When we do this we show our love for Him in how we serve others.
In 1 Peter 4:10, it says: “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”
The bible says that the greatest among us are those who serve others (Matthew 20:25-27). Not only do we need to know what our gifts are but also how they can be used to help someone else in their time of need (Romans 12:6-8). When we use our gifts and talents in serving others then it becomes a blessing for everyone involved!
Being a good servent to God.
It is very important to be a good servant of God. The first step is to realize that we are not perfect and that we need the Holy Spirit to help us. When we pray and ask for guidance, the Holy Spirit will guide us in our daily lives.
The second step would be to read the Bible often. It will give us guidance on what we need to do in our daily lives. Jesus said,” The words I speak are spirit and life” John 6:63 .
The third step would be to keep all of God’s commandments, especially those regarding prayer, fasting and almsgiving (giving money or goods to the poor). We should also strive to live a holy life as Jesus did when He was on earth 2000 years ago.
- Be honest and loyal to God.
- Be faithful to God in all the little things that you do.
- Be thankful and grateful to God for all the blessings in your life.
- Serve God with all your heart, mind and soul.
- Pray and meditate on the Word of God each day so that you can build a strong relationship with God (Matthew 6:6).
- Eat food as it was meant to be eaten – in moderation, with an emphasis on whole foods (Proverbs 23:2).
- Exercise regularly (at least 30 minutes per day) because it is good for both your body and mind (Exodus 23:12).
- A good servant is one who does the will of the master.

Soul Winning 101
Pastors: The most important thing in your life is to see souls saved. This is why you are in ministry, and it should be your focus.
When you are preaching, you have to ask yourself, “Is my sermon going to lead people to Christ? Is it going to win more converts?” You have a responsibility before God and man (or woman) to be effective at winning souls for Christ.
Here are some tips from Dr. Frank Damazio’s book How To Witness Effectively:
- Start a conversation with strangers by asking them questions about themselves or their interests or hobbies (sports, travel etc.) but then lead into spiritual things like; Does God care about us? Does he love us deeply? Would he forgive us if we sinned against him (are there sins that separate us from God)? Are we responsible for our own actions or does someone else determine what happens in our lives (is there free will)? Why would anyone choose hell when they could choose heaven instead of being separated from God forever?
