Dream About Being Held Captive And Trying To Escape

I do not remember when I first experienced this dream but it has happened to me several times over the years. In the majority of my dreams I am held captive and I have always been trying to escape. This always happens in a dark space, where no-one can see me or hear my distress. I have tried various methods of escape like digging and using tools but have never had any luck. The most memorable was when I managed to dig a hole large enough to climb out of; it was as if there was no outside world; everything was like a big cave.

Lately I’ve been having a recurring dream about being held captive and trying to escape. In the dream, there’s always a man with a gun who is holding me captive And it feels like I’ve been locked in this room for days.

Imagine being held captive in a dark and dingy room with no windows or doors. The stuffy room has moist walls, mold on the ceiling, and a single light bulb hanging down. You can hear heavy foot steps walking around up above you, but you have no idea when they’re coming back or what they’ll do to you next. You can hear screams and cries coming from other rooms like your own, but you have no way of knowing whether others are being hurt or killed just right outside.
